Snapper Pin
Snapper Pins have many uses on equipment, trailers, couplers, pintles, etc. The quick connect and disconnect feature makes them easy to use. The double wire mechanism keeps it securely "locked" during use.

Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Redline Snapper pin. Now this pin is going to provide a really good solution for couplers, or like anything else where you've got a 1/4 inch-sized hole we need a pin to go through it with a catch on it.Now these are available in two sizes as you can see. This is the 2 3/8 inch usable length, so from here to here it's 2 3/8 of an inch. This is gonna be an inch and 3/4. Now regardless of the one you choose, it's got a nice heavy duty spring release on it there.
You can see it's squared off. This is gonna be ideal for anything that has more of a rectangular shape, like a coupler here. There are others that will have more of a rounded type spring keeper on them. Those are better suited for more of a rounded type application.Irregardless of the size you choose, we've got the yellow zinc finish, it's gonna completely coat it. That way corrosion and things like that you won't have to worry about for a real long time.Overall, the tension on the spring is nice.
It's not overly heavy where you have to put too much pressure on it, but it's also not so light that you'll be worried about it accidentally coming loose. Now this design of pins, gonna be a pretty basic style when it comes to coupler pins. There are other options we can kind of compare those for you. Basically, we have an option if you tend to lose these quite a bit, there's an option of one that has a chain connected to it. Then you can use a small bolt or a self-tapping screw to secure it to your coupler. So if you lose them often, that's probably a good idea.
That way it'll just hang there, you'll always have it.Also, if you want to secure our trailer to your truck, we have coupler pins available that have locks included. So then you can slide your pin through, lock that down, and ensure nobody can separate the two.Now as far as your installation process is gonna go, we want to get our square snapper kinda off of there. Just gonna open that up. Then we're able to slide our pin through. Once that's through, just gonna bring that over, capture it, and that'll prevent that from being removed.
And at that point, you're ready to head down the road and you can be sure your latch is gonna stay closed. And that's gonna complete our look at the Redline square snapper pins.
