Etrailer is by far an excellent company to deal with. Quality products and fast shipping is only part of what makes them the best. These LED lights are of superior quality and I highly recommend them and this company.

by:

Beautiful tail light. Very bright for the brake and turn signal. Fitted it on the back of my trailer with an L bracket.

by:

Tired of dealing with corroded bulbs so bought these LED units. Same 2" bolt spacing as old one so easily mounted. Spliced wire connections and works great. Super bright! Will see how it holds up to weather. Hopefully will never have to touch it again.

by:

First set of submersible trailer light that have lasted the rigors of salt water. Highly recommend this product

by:

They sent me old halogen light fixture. Not sure how that got sent out the door.

I know that's super frustrating to have to go through placing the order and waiting for it to arrive and then it turns out its the wrong thing, and then having to let us know and then having to go through whatever process to get the correct item sent. I can only chalk it up to human error plain and simple. I am glad to see our customer service team is sending you the correct part. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

by:

So far so good I have had these lights on for over a year now and have forgotten several times to unplug when launch or retrieving the boat it doesn't seem to effect the lights as they still work fine. Stop and signal is not that bright in daylight but shows up fine in dusk or night. It could be my angle of the trailer that causes this.

by:

The trailer light has been installed for 2 years now, and continues to functions flawlessly. The trailer is out in the SW desert environment and has shown no negative effect from the weather at all. A great product that works well.

This light is a great up grade to the stocks lights that came with my new "Trailer in a Bag". I am looking forward to these LED's working well with all the bouncing road punishment a small trailer has.

by:

Bought a set of these for my boat trailer. install was easy and look great

by:

This is the second pair that I have purchased for a PWC and dirt bike trailer. They are excellent. One of the lenses in the first pair was defective. I called Optronics and they immediately shipped me another. Excellent Tech Support. The lights are very bright and so easy to install. Be sure and secure the ground wire to the trailer frame against raw metal (un-painted and freshly ground), or the lights will not perform properly. Also, the washer provided goes on the fixture side of the trailer mount. Locking nuts secure the light on the opposite side with no washer.

I have since bought two more for my dirt bike trailer. These taillights are exceptional. They are very well made, easy to install and provide BRIGHT red light. I did have to return one of the lights which was defectivenew. You replaced it right away and I have had no further issues. I would highly recommend. Wish you had lights for my Toy FJ40LandCruiser.....

  • Left Turn Signal is Dim and Left Brake Signal is Bright on a 2010 Heartland Edge M18 Trailer
I would suspect a poor ground connection as well. It is odd that the brake signal is bright and the turn signal is dim because those signals typically run through the same wire. Any time there is a loss of power or brightness, a ground issue is the likely culprit. It is also important to check for the ground issue first because a new light will have the same problem if there is a poor ground. I did some research on your trailer and found that it probably has an aluminum frame. Finding...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer LED Turn/Stop Lights Not Working with Headlights on
There are 2 possible reasons why your LED lights aren't working when you turn your headlights on; the first (and more likely) is that you have a bad ground or grounds, and the second is that you have too many LED lights on your trailer. Start off by checking all of the grounds connected to the lighting on your trailer. Make sure they are all securely connected to a clean, bare-metal surface. Also check the pin for the ground on your trailer connector while you're at it. I have attached...

  • Turn Signals on Trailer Work Opposite of Truck With Brake Applied
What you describe is a classic symptom of a insufficient ground connection. Then there is minimal amperage running through the system, everything works fine but with the brake signal thrown in, more power is running through which is when the problem will rear its head. Make sure that the trailer connector's ground point which is usually on the trailer tongue is secure and not corroded, and is making direct contact to clean metal on the trailer tongue or frame. Check each lamp to make...

  • Both Trailer Turn Signals Flash When Tow Vehicle Headlights are On
What you describe is a classic symptom of a poor ground connection. Everything works okay until you turn on the vehicle's headlights or running lights, then things get interesting. When the headlights are on, the wiring for the lighting on the trailer is under full load which is when a problem will show itself. The trailer connector ground should be securely attached to the trailer tongue, to clean bare metal. Remove the ground screw or bolt and sand down a dime-sized area around the hole...

  • Installing New 4-Way on Trailer that Uses Non-Standard Colors
Best option is going to be to take a jumper wire from a positive battery post and jump 12 volts to each of the wires you have on your trailer and note what functions turn on and then wire the new 4-way accordingly as it sounds like your trailer uses non-standard colors which is making things difficult. If one sparks it's the ground circuit. So the white of the new 4-way goes to ground, brown to running lights, yellow to left turn/stop, and green to right turn/stop. I also attached a link...

  • Recommendation to Add Extra Right Tail Light on Trailer
To add an extra tail light to your trailer, I recommend using a Trailer Tail Light like the Optronics # STL8RB. This light will give you stop light, turn signal light and tail light functions and will mount to any surface using the included studs. You will simply splice the wires into the existing tail light wiring of your trailer. The white wire will be grounded, the brown wire is for the tail lights and the yellow wire is for the stop and turn lights. I have attached a video review...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Right Blinker that Flashes All of Trailer Lights
Sounds like your right turn/stop circuit is shorted out to your running light circuit which is causing all of your trailer lights to flash when you apply the right turn signal. Most likely this is due to exposed wire between these two circuits on the trailer wiring. You'd have to go over the wiring of the trailer looking for that and fix as needed.

  • How to Ground the LED Submersible Light part # STL8RB
The LED Submersible Light part # STL8RB that you referenced would work perfectly for you. You would match the brown and green color wires of the assembly to the brown and green wires of your trailer and then would run the white wire to a clean metal surface that touches your trailer frame. This is the ground circuit. Your old light assemblies probably grounded through the mounting hardware. If so, you could just put the ring terminal of the white wire on one of the mounting studs of the...

  • Troubleshooting Running Light Circuit of Trailer Blinking with Turn Signal
Running lights should not be affected by the blinkers or stoplights of the trailer. What you described sounds like a weak trailer wiring ground which you can improve by cleaning up the ground circuit of each of the light assemblies or even running a jumper wire for the ground circuit back to the main harness of the trailer. You also can try cleaning the pins of the trailer wiring connectors as well. I also attache a really helpful link to a trailer wiring troubleshooting article.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Running Lights Circuit of Vehicle Fuse Blowing with Ground Continuity
Finding continuity to ground on the running light circuit of your trailer indicates that the circuit has a short to the frame of the trailer most likely and is your problem. What you'll need to do is trace the circuit starting at the assemblies or connector and look for a short between the wire and the frame of the trailer. This is a very common problem and the solution is finding where the exposed wire is that's touching the trailer frame and fixing as needed. I also attached a help...

  • Can Trailer Tail Lights be Grounded to the Towing Vehicle Instead of the Trailer Frame
When installing the LED Submersible Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light, # STL8RB, you will want to ground it to the trailer. Having a ground that is attached to the tow vehicle would be so long it could make the ground ineffective. Also, you would have to disconnect it every time you disconnected the trailer. The movement of the trailer could also pull the ground loose if it were attached to the tow vehicle. If corrosion is a problem, you will need to find the best place you can near the...

  • Will Water Get Into LED Trailer Tail Light # STL8RB and Short Out the Light
The LED trailer light # STL8RB is submersible meaning that water can get in but the lights are sealed so the water will not short them out. If you were to seal up all the holes in the back of the light then no water could get in at all and it would not be an issue. Since the lights are sealed on the inside water would not be an issue either way.

  • Can Combination LED Trailer Tail Light # STL8RB be Installed on Either Side of Trailer
You would be totally fine to use the Combination LED Trailer Tail Light # STL8RB on both the driver and passenger side of your trailer. You'd just need to flip it over like you mentioned and you'd be fine. It will function the same installed on either side. The only reason there's a driver and passenger side is that the driver side typically has a license plate light on the bottom of it.

  • Can RV with LED Taillights Tow Trailer with Incandescent Bulbs
Yes, your RV that has LED taillights will work fine towing a trailer that has incandescent bulbs. The trailer wiring setup of your RV was designed to be able to handle the higher amperage load of incandescent bulbs as it would not draw power from the taillight circuits. Instead it uses the taillight circuits for signal wires and then draws power directly from the battery.

  • Will the LED Submersible Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light # STL8RB work on a EZ Load Boat Trailer
It sounds like the two wires on your trailer wiring are for the stop/turn and tail light functions and the ground is through the mounting hardware of the light assemblies. • Troubleshooting Trailer Light Assembly that Doesn't Get Brighter with Blinker/Stop Light
Sounds like the brighter stoplight/turn signal function of your taillight isn't working. This is typically caused by the running light circuit of the trailer wiring being ran to the stop/turn circuit of the light wiring. Make sure the stop/turn circuit is ran to the green wire (if you have the STL8RB) and not the brown wire which would be the running light circuit. Also verify that the stop/turn circuit is making it back to the assembly and that a short isn't taking preventing the circuit...

It sounds like you might be getting some bleed-over from the turn signals occurring in the trailer connector. Take a look at the trailer connector, and check the plug for corrosion in the sockets.
