CE Smith Boat Trailer Parts - CE27660

  • CE Smith

Keep your small boat centered during the loading process, despite wind and waves, with these bunk-board-style guide-ons. Corrosion-resistant guides are covered with marine-grade carpet and fit trailer frames up to 3" wide x 4-1/4" tall.

Features:

  • Bunk-style guides support your boat and keep it centered while you're loading it onto your trailer
    • Tilt to accommodate hulls of various sizes
  • Support posts clamp onto top or bottom of trailer frame
    • Mounting brackets allow you to adjust the distance between posts
    • Pre-galvanized steel construction is sturdy and resists corrosion
    • Hardware included
  • Marine-grade carpeting lines bunk boards to protect your boat's finish
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Quantity: 2 bunk-style boat guides
  • Application: trailer frames up to 3" wide x 4-1/4" tall
    • 2 Extra-long U-bolt kits (CE11416; sold separately) are required for mounting on frames up to 3" wide x 5-1/4" tall
  • Bunk board dimensions (each): 24" long x 2" wide x 4" tall
  • Post dimensions: 21" tall x 1-1/2" wide
  • Upright post angle: 75 degrees

Adjustable boat guides can be fine-tuned to work with your boat and your trailer. The pre-galvanized steel support posts mount horizontally on top of or below your trailer's frame rail. Just slide the posts into the boat guide supports and secure the posts so that the distance between the bunks correctly matches the width of your boat. The bunk boards then tilt to conform to the boat's hull. Guides will help to center your boat during loading and to hold the boat during transport.

Pre-Galvanized Steel

Pre-galvanized steel parts are stamped from a sheet of steel after it has already been galvanized. The edges of the pre-galvanized parts often lose their zinc coating during the stamping process. Because of the thinness of the coating less than 1 mil and the fact that the edges remain exposed, pre-galvanized parts can begin to oxidize and rust quickly, so its recommended that they be primed and painted.

Best addition to my boat I've made. These let me get my flat-bottomed SturDee 15 foot boat aligned on the trailer with no trouble at all. Since it's not a "V Hull" with a roller in the middle of the trailer, getting it lined up was a hassle before adding these guides-ons.

I highly recommend them for any flat-bottomed boat.

After a year, Ive made a couple of adjustments to these- both in height and angle. They are working very well and allow me to highhandedly trailer my boat. The carpet is still unfaded and secure.

by:

Used them all last summer. They have held up well and definitely make trailering the boat a lot easier. Before installing the bunks we would have problems getting the keel of the boat onto the trailer roller. Now it lines up every time.

by:

This is going to make a much more pleasant drive to the lake. No more rattling rollers on the side. No more wear marks on my boat from the rollers. There is plenty of adjustment up, down, in and out for most any boat and trailer combination. My trailer frame rails were wider than some, but no problem, I just used the other bracket holes. It seems like they thought of everything.

by:

Nice addition to my trailer. The video of installation was helpful as well!

by:

Customer service was topnotch but there was some misinformation and some lack of information. The extruded legs don't need to be painted due to a galvanized coating applied at the factory. Also the self tapping wood screws shouldn't be screwed in without first drilling a pilot hole for two reasons. The large diameter screw may split the wood bunk and without a pilot hole the screw would be difficult to physically screw in. So the installation instructions should suggest drilling a pilot hole first and should specify what size drill bit should be used. Having said that, I will say that I am very happy with the quality, price, and design of these guide-ons. I changed up my carpet covered main bunks to plastic composite bunks because I use my aluminum boat in salt water and the carpet holds salt water against the bottom of the boat which over time will corrode and cause pinholes in the hull. The plastic bunk solves that problem but is very slippery so I needed some side support to resist the boat potentially sliding off the trailer. Also with the added benefit when loading to help the main guide-ons to keep the boat centered.

This product is great! Works well and is holding up great. Looks exactly like it did a year ago when I installed them.

by:

Purchased these bunk guides in July '14 . Took two days to receive them . Received updated tracking information from the time of order until the box hit my doorstop. Installation was a snap . Came with directions but really did not even need to look at them . Took less than an hour to install both sides . Painted them after installation and they match the trailer perfectly . I have a very heavy 14 1/2 foot fiberglass boat . Once it is on the trailer there is no adjusting it . It also catches a lot of wind and can be difficult to load at times. Loaded the boat today for the first time with the guides . Should have bought them a long time ago . The guides center the boat perfectly . Hook the winch strap to the boat and crank away . The boat centers itself right on the rollers . Would be especially helpful for those folks that load and unload their boat alone . Great Product Great Service

by:

For the price these are worth every single penny! Makes it easy to load your boat without looking drunk. Either driving or using the rope to manually pull my 16 foot aluminum boat up in the actual center is a breeze. They left some pretty rough edges of the product and mounting hardware sticking out that could be stitches if you were to crash into them in a pair of shorts. Just saying...

by:

Work great, I like the short ones.

by:

These bunks are the exact same as the ones which came on the original trailer which lasted 13 years. Nice and sturdy with a good wrapping of black outdoor carpet. I should be good for another 13 years!

by:

I have only used them several times but they are a blessing to get boat on trailer. I will be using them many times in the near future and I am sure I will like them even more.

by:

Easy to assemble.

by:

Great product...installed over 1 year ago and still great.

Great, still like new.

by:

These guides are what I needed for my 16' boat. They are perfect in size and height.

by:

Good quality, great replacement

by:

Overall a quality product. I had to modify a bit for my Beavertail 1850 mud boat as the angle of the guide on support didn’t really fit my trailer/boat combo to my liking. But I’m still very satisfied.

by:

Here is a finished photo of a duel set of short bunk guides for my 1974 Starcraft Capri 15'. Perfect fit and compatability! Thanx again for your prompt and quality services!

by:

The screws on port side came loose on bunk board was able to use a larger size has taken some hard hits In windy conditions very happy with product

by:

These guides look good an fit my Jon boat perfectly. I have a Lowe Big Jon and its hard to launch and take out of lakes alone. I haven't tried them yet so ill have to see how they do . I am definitely glad I got them.

by:

Had to make spacer for inside of tube on bolt holding board to prevent collapsing tube when tightening thru bolt. Spacer should be supplied with this kit considering the price of these side bunks.

by:

My product came in excellent time, and was in perfect shape ....easy instructions, and easy to install.
With the very large selection of items from Etrailer, and the high quality, I won't go anywhere else. Thanx Etrailer

by:

Worked well to guide boat on trailer co rrectly.

by:

I am very pleased with your products. You might be surprised how I used them. Glad to write a review.

by:

Definite made a difference for a one man load back onto the trailer

by:

Delivery was fast and on time. The product is well made. Installation instructions were clear and precise. I installed the guides the morning after I received them and the entire process took less than an hour. The most amount of time was spent on deciding where to place them and making adjustments to my trailer which was, unbeknownst to me, uneven and tilted slightly to one side. Once that was corrected, the guide-ons installed properly. I'm taking my boat out tomorrow to test them out but I'm certain they will work fine.

Everything is still working great. I have now loaded my boat back onto my trailer dozens of times , all without any problems. Well worth the money spent.

by:

this guide on will make loading my boat much easier I am sure. how ever the hardware did not work for my 2"x4" frame alum. trailer.
I will make it work with 1 1/2 " U bolts .
you might check the mako 16' skiff and alum. trailer package sold by tracker boats to see what I am working with.

  • Will the CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-On # CE27660 Fit on a Pontoon Boat Trailer
The CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons, # CE27660, were not designed for pontoon boats, but you may be able to make them fit depending on the design of your trailer frame. Since most pontoon boat trailers use guide-ons inside of the bunks, you will want to make sure you have room for them with your boat on the trailer. It would be best if your trailer had a frame rail under the bunk boards that ran parallel to them. Keep in mind, these are guide-ons only, not bunk board supports. I spoke with...

The CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers part # CE27600 can be used on any trailer but traditionally they are not used on pontoons. Not saying we do not install them on pontoons. As a matter of fact we used the CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers part # CE27660 which is similar to that above on my buddy Shane's pontoon. Check out the linked video. • 60 Inch or 24 Inch Bunk Guides for Boat Trailer
Since you mentioned wanting the most stability and not always being perfect when loading (understandably), I think the longer, 5 foot (60 inch) CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27600 is the best option as it will give you the most stability and assistance in guiding your boat all the way on your trailer. Or box off the frame where the guide-ons will install by having a professional welder weld on some steel plate. Guide-ons specifically for a round tube frame are not available.
