Video Transcript for etrailer Ball Mount Bag Review

What's up, everybody It's A.J. with etrailer.com. Today, we have the etrailer Ball Mount Bag.Now, it is exactly what it says. It's a bag to put your ball mount and accessories in there. Now, the alternative is probably throwing it in the back of your truck, which you're used to doing, or in the truck. Either way, stuff could slide around, and you can lose parts.

Like, ,if you don't put the pin and clip with it, it could end up at a different corner of the truck or you just lose it all together, and then this is useless without it. So this is a great way to keep it all together, and we've got our anti-rattle device here, and there's room for tools or anything else you might need to put it in the bag and take it with you.The bag itself is made of a nice nylon material. It really feels like it's going to hold up with the ball mount inside because a ball mount, as you know, isn't exactly light. If you put it in a paper bag or plastic bag, it would just rip right through the bottom. So this is clearly way better than those.

I feel like I can go up and down with it. The handle itself doesn't feel like it's going to snap or break. It's sewed on there here, and I feel pretty confident about that it's not going to just rip out when you're carrying it around. Same with the nylon. It's nice.

It doesn't . I can't get it until you seem like it was going to rip or anything like that, or tear on me. I feel like if you had, maybe, the pins kind of got some sharp edges on it . I don't think it's going to catch and rip anything open. Now, we've had some questions on the durability of the bag, and as you can see, as I'm going up and down with it, trying to make it hit against the bottom, it doesn't feel strained. It doesn't feel like there's any rips or anything here at the bottom.

If you tried doing that with any other kind of bag, like a plastic bag or paper bag, that would rip right through the bottom of it. I don't have to worry about with this bag.The handle itself is sewn on, and I have confidence in that too, because I can pull on it and try and rip it, and it's not moving. So when you go to lift it like there . because the ball mount, like I said, it's pretty heavy, so you want a bag that can hold up to that.Let's take a look inside the bag. I want to show you the coating on the inside. It helps protect the nylon from stuff like this clip, if it was the get on here and drag, it wouldn't rip or tear it at all. Also reinforces the handle, see where I can show you that . where is it There we go. It's got this nice patch there, giving it more strength, and it's not just going to rip out when you go to lift it up.There are a few things that I think they could improve on with the bag, though. The zipper does seem sturdy, but I would like it to unzip a little bit more. Maybe come down here, giving you more access to the bag so when you go to drop stuff in, it doesn't get in your way, and just easier to get things back out, too. I would also like to see some padding on the inside. It's a little bit . that way, cushions it when you go to drop it somewhere or throw it somewhere, it protects the ball on the inside, and what you're going to drop it on, like to tailgate.I'll show you here, what I'm talking about, just lift it up and drop it. That was loud, and it didn't really protect the tailgate at all. If it had a little bit of padding, it wouldn't have been as loud, and it'd be protected. With those features in mind, the bag I'm comparing it to is the CE Smith Ball Mount Bag. Like I said, it's got that zipper that comes all the way around like that. You can see how much wider it opens, and it's got the padding on the inside, cushioning it when you go to drop it, and I'll show you here . this one also has a pocket, which is nice for the smaller items, but really, they kind of fall out anyway, when you go to put them in there. So, I don't know if I can . I don't know if I like the pocket or not. (silence) Now, you do sacrifice space with the padding. So, you could probably fit another ball in here . a couple of things in here before it's overloaded. And now, we'll do the drop test. You can see it's way more muffled, which I'm sure you don't really care about the sound, but that just shows the protection on the tailgate or whatever you're throwing it into.Honestly, though, that's the only two little critiques. They're not that big a deal. This bag still works great for your ball mount, and you have more space with this one.I think it's going to be a great solution for keeping all your stuff together, nice and neat, and give you an easy way to put it in your truck. That does it for our look at the etrailer Ball Mount Bag..

A convenient way to keep my trailering accessories in one place.

by:

Ive had my trailer hitch for 1 year. great product, great wiring, great videos for install instructions too and great price. And after dealing with customer service they are great as well.

thank you George

by:

I like this took keep all my towing accessories tidy in the back of my SUV. I don’t tow with that specific vehicle often so it’s nice to know where everything is when needed.

by:

Not much to say- it holds the balls, the pins, and the ball mounts all in one convenient place. I'm glad to have it.

by:

Quality product.

by:

I just needed something to keep my pins and ball mount together when they're not on the vehicle, and this does the job. I don't think it would last long in rugged situations, but for storing in the trunk/cargo area or garage it is perfect.

by:

To my knowledge, I don’t remember getting the bag, but regardless it’s not a big deal.

by:

The trailer hitch bag was too small to fit my hitch assembly

by:

Very good feeling bag with what looks like robust stitching, though I'm not a seamstress so I can't say for sure, just that the fabric feels heavy duty. Has a strap on it which makes it far easier to carry and store a ball mount, especially in my Outback which has got to have one of the slipperiest cargo floors I ever encountered(I guess the dealer used too much of that plastic shine stuff). Being able to attach this to something so it stays in place is one of the main reasons I bought this and so far I am quite happy with it as I haven't heard a sound from the back on turns.

And it also helped when I carried the ball mount out to my car. Instead of keeping my arm tensioned so it didn't bounce off my legs I was able to just let it dangle in the bag. I wish I had gotten one sooner.

The bag is still holding together. Still very nice to have to keep everything together and easy to find.

Thank you George! I made responses on those two reviews and am still very happy with the two items I bought. The bag is still holding up and the ballmount is exactly what I needed for my trailer. Didnt even need anti rattle clips. Thanks again, and please pass my thanks along to everyone else at the company.

by:

Didn't receive it

by:

Fastway ball covers fit well and the tether is a great idea, don't have to find something to wrap it in and a place to store it until your done towing. The ball mount bag is another great idea, but use the ball cover so you don't get grease inside the bag.

Great bag. Easy to fit my hitch in and handle makes it easy to move around.

by:

I neeed to pull a trailer with my 2019 GMC Yukon. I found Etrailer.com and followed the instructions on determining the drop of the hitch, the instructions were spot on. I hooked up my trailer to my Yukon today, all was level and worked perfectly.

I had driven around to Napa, Lowe’s, Home Depot and Walmart, and nobody had the 9” drop hitch I needed. Came back to Etrailer, bought the 2” ball and pin, and the Curt 9” drop hitch. I received the items quickly.

Great website,

Thanks,

Craig

by:

Very Well Made. Just what I needed to keep all my stuff together such as my hitch receiver, my plug adapters, my hitch locking pin and the other two hitch balls for my 'convert a ball' set. Now when I need to use my trailer hitch ALL my equipment is in one place and easy to find. etrailer was a GREAT Company to work with and they shipped it out to me very fast. I will use them again.

by:

This is what I have been looking for but did not know that it even existed. This is a very nice, sturdy, and built very solid bag. I can now safely keep my Ball Mount out of the way and don't have to worry about any grease leftover on the ball possibly rubbing off onto somewhere. Also, these people at etrailer.com are the best, in my humble opinion. This is at least the 3rd time that I have placed an order with them for some item related to my Jetski trailer and they always seem to have what I am looking for and at a VERY Good Price ! Keep up the fantastic work ! I have made mention of you to my circle of friends and extended family members.

by:

Great little back to stow away the ball mount extension and all the other small parts such as extra hitch ball, pins, and hitch locks.

by:

Great product to carry all of the needed parts for towing (Pins, Locks, Hitch) and have it all together when you need them.
The only thing I would improve on is if it had two handles on the sides (either side of the zipper) and you could carry like a small case rather than just the one handle that carries from the end. It makes it a little awkward because everything shifts to the bottom of the case and puts a strain on the one handle

by:

Nice little bag to hold all my towing accessories. I leave everything in it for when I need it. No need to hunt down pieces since they are all in one place. Plus, things aren't rattling around loose in the back of my SUV. This isn't some cheap bag either. It seems to be made to last and made of good materials. Great product!

by:

Very please. Rugged and functional.

by:

I usually remove the trailer hitches after each use and worry about them getting rusty from the weather by leaving them on year round but now with the ball covers and storage bags I can keep them like new and lubed to prevent scrapes and most of all rust. I am a happy customer.

by:

Product and installation were exactly as represented. Could not be more pleased with eTrailer for quality product and great information

The Ball Mount Bag lives in the back of the vehicle, keeping the hitch, ball, and pin in order, and the bag still looks like new - DURABLE !

by:

I am very happy with the 2" 10000# ball and mount bag. My order was receive as promised. Both are quality products. The bag would be a little more functional if it had a handle on the top instead of the end.
I will order from etrailer next time I need a hitch product.

by:

It's a bag. Its larger than I thought it'd be. I have one for all the tow supplies for each of my vehicles. I can fit two ball mounts, 2 balls, 2 pins, 1 locking pin, 4-pin extension wire with room to spare. Although it seems like pretty thin material it seems to be holding the weight well too as in the bag doesn't seem like it'll rip for a while if at all.

by:

looks great , plenty of room for ball mount and then some, will keep the ball mount from rolling around behind the seat

Joe

holding up fine, no complaints

I ordered this but returned for another CE Smith Ball Mount Storage Bag - Nylon - Black. This bag is basic, tons of space, not padded or contoured, zippers strong. I just liked the look, feel and quality of the CE Smith Ball Mount Storage Bag - Nylon - Black. This bag is a TON bigger than the CE Smith Ball Mount Storage Bag - Nylon - Black in case anyone is wondering. I tried it on my 2" and 1 1/4" receivers (2 cars).
