Hey, everybody. Ryan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be checking out the JIF Marine transom saver toggle. For those of you that have a busted transom saver toggle like I do, one of the things that you'll run into, at least when the rubber comes apart, is it'll start to kind of tear into the case and I'm glad I noticed this. I'm assuming the rubber part came off during transit or something and it started just to eat away the paint. But I mean, if you ride like that for a while, you know, you could damage your case or even worse.

So, here's what happened to mine here. The little rubber pads, one just came off completely. No clue what happened to it. But this thing sees quite a bit of use, and so, over time, something like that's gonna happen. And these transom savers aren't cheap.

You know what I mean And so, being able just to replace the toggle here, saves a lot of energy and headache. You're not gonna have to replace a whole transom saver just 'cause he got one bad rubber pad. So, this toggle, this is a direct replacement for the JIF transom savers and probably other brands too. I'll be perfectly honest with you. This one came with the boat.

No clue what brand it is but it's a direct matchup and that probably holds true for the majority of them out there if I had to guess. They're all pretty similar ends like this. For those of you that have the pads, so there's some of the transom savers that just have a flat pad, we carry those as well. I know those are kind of tricky to find so if that's a scenario you're in, you can always find those here. And it's gonna work for either side.

Some gonna be replacing this one but if this one we're bad, you just flip it the other way around and it'll bolt right up. This is going to come with a new nut and a bolt so that's convenient if you lost yours completely or whatever the case may be. And moving forward too, what I think I'm gonna do, 'cause this one I originally had on there clearly is bad. The one to across from it is more smashed down than the one up here I think. When I put this new one on, I might rotate this one and get the thicker pad back here to just try to wear them evenly. So, if that's happened to you guys, maybe moving forward might not be a bad thing to do. Every other season or something like that might get some more life out of these. I went ahead and got the new one put on there. It's just a half-inch size head bolt and nut so super simple. Yeah, really nothing to it there. So, with this one set up here, why don't we go ahead and just test it on the motor and see how it looks. Set the transom saver up, lowered the motor down into it, grabbed it good, works like it should. Really can't ask for more. And to be honest, I'll feel a whole lot better now knowing that my transom saver isn't grinding into the case whenever I'm towing my boat down the road. But other than that, a really simple fix to and otherwise potentially cause you a problem. Hopefully, this video helped you out..
