This pad is designed to fit your long arms crossbar, so it protects your gear when you're heading down the road. The custom fabric pad is made with a ballistic nylon, so it's going to prevent against scratches and abrasions.It secures around your crossbar with hook and loop fasteners. It has a cut-out in the center to accommodate the mass. It can also be positioned on either side and you can pick up a second one for full bar coverage. These pads help protect my hang glider during transport. They are very effective and work well.

Well made exact fit on the crossbar section (two pads needed for full crossbar coverage). The pad attached with hook and loop tabs integral to the cover. I had to compress the pad to get the hook and loop tabs to overlap completely. That gives the cover a desirable snug fit.
The covers have a little Yakima name tab sewn onto the edge of the cover.

First of all I ordered two and received two but they were supposed to have arrived Monday paying a $[XX] shipping fee. They actually showed up today at 10:53 AM which was 1.5 days late. Both products were fine but the delay has made me have to change travel plans. I'm not happy about that!
