We do have a solution for you, though you will need to use the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # HTAD because there aren't any load extenders for 1-1/4 inch hitches. Also keep in mind that this (or any) adapter does reduce the capacity of your hitch by 50 percent, so you'll need to make sure the weight of your canoe and load extender does not exceed 50 percent of the tongue weight capacity on your hitch. To secure the adapter in your hitch you'll need Pin and Clip # # PC2.

Then for a load extender I recommend the Yakima LongArm Bed and Roof Load Extender # Y01149-1150 because it is not only adjustable in height and length, as you can see by the accompanying cut out, but it is also just 12 lbs, meaning you will have more capacity remaining for your canoe with the LongArm than with any other extender.

It comes with an anti-rattle pin though you can secure it to your hitch with the Yakima HitchLock # Y07235, and I also recommend the Crossbar Pad # Y07417 to cushion your kayak while you are en route to the water.

I have added links to a couple video reviews of the LongArm for you which I recommend taking a look at.
