Needed to replace my one worn out and one lost kayak pads. Work great, just remember to check your straps

The foam blocks for my Malone Kayak storage rack were finally aging badly. etrailer.com had them in stock at a great price and shipped them out promptly.
Very easy company to deal with.

The Kayak blocks are excellent quality. I am using them on my Malone pull behind kayak trailer to carry a canoe along with my kayak, during boating season. I move them one at a time onto the ground next to the trailer in order to move my boat off the trailer. I throw them in my car once the boat is in the water. Then I move them to my outdoor canoe and kayak rack to secure a boat for the snowy, windy winter months.

Still going strong ! The blocks hardly look used, they hold up so well to spring, summer, fall use, and winter rack storage. I have had other blocks in the past which wear out quickly leaving misshapened, ragged edged, squishy lumps. The Malone foam is superior.

by:

These things are amazing. I use them for floor braces for my kayak in my garage and the cuts in the bottom fit perfectly for dumbells so they dont move!

by:

They work as intended, but I wish they were firmer/stiffer. The kayak shifted from its side to its bottom and the blocks formed to the kayak bottom. Ideally, the kayak should be stored slightly on its side. Also, the local anmials started taking chucks out of my blocks for nesting material. I have to spray animal replenent to help keep the animals away.

I bought foam blocks and Malone load straps for a kayak I plan to give to my son-in-law and grandchildren. This will allow him carry it on the roof racks of their van. The products arrived very quickly and are of great quality. Thank you!!

by:

I received the items promptly. One item was not included in the box. This matter was quickly resolved by Teresa to my satisfaction. Everything is great.

  • Using Foam Blocks and Pads with the Malone Storage Rack # MPG338
When you are putting your kayak on top of the Foam Kayak Blocks # MPG339, for the Storage Rack # MPG338, it is best to set it down on top of them simultaneously. Since there is a cross pattern on the bottom side of these blocks they shouldn't go anywhere unless you are trying to slide the kayak on top of them. As far as the Upright Foam Pad # MPG179 goes you may want to try loading your kayak or board first (gently of course) and then placing the block where it makes contact with the storage...

  • Availability of Foam Block Kayak Carrier Compatible with Square Profile Crossbars
Although there are still a few square profile crossbars available, many are getting away from them slowly because the aero-style are much quieter. A block system like the Malone # MPG162 is compatible with both square and aero-profile bars. Once the kayaks are strapped down to the roof rack and at the bow and stern, it doesn't really matter what profile the blocks are compatible with, because the force of the straps holding the kayaks in place will prevent the blocks from moving. I found...
