Today we'll be having a look at the Wesbar Coiled Adapter 7-Way RV to 4-Way or 5-Way Flat. It's 8 feet long. It's part number 787196. All right, here we are. Right now we're going to use our Wesbar 7-Way to a 5-Way adapter to hook up our electrical connection between our RV and our towed vehicle here. The key feature of this unit is that it adapts from a 7-Way RV connector, like we have on the back of our RV.
Down to either a 4-Way or a 5-Way flat. This will give us our turn signals, our break lights, our tail lights, and even our reverse function, which is very handy because we can also use this adapter for towing boat trailers. A lot of boat trailers have reverse lockout solenoid and need that reverse output signal to engage that solenoid so you can safely backup your boat trailer. We have these nice finger holds here to pull back on when we're ready to remove it. It gives us something extra to grip on so you don't have to pull it by the wire itself, which could cause damage. This will plug into the 4-Flat on the front of our towed vehicle here.
Now as you can see, our coiled cable here will stretch to a maximum of 8 feet in length. Now even though this cable, when it's not hooked up to anything, retracts back to a very small manner, we don't have to worry about the tension. Some of our customers have expressed concern about that, but as we found out, the tension's not strong enough to separate your connection. Our wire is coated in this durable yellow marine-grade coating giving us an ideal umbilical to use for our marine applications, for our boat trailers, or for being out in the elements, or flat towing behind our RV. The environmentally sealed 16 gauge coiled wire will prevent tangling and prevent shorts from happening inside the wire if the wires we're to break and rub together. Though this product is quality made, it will not fit a 4 pin flat even though it says it will fit a 4 or a 5 way flat. There is no way it will fit the 4 way with the divider in the plug.
Easy to use. Just plug and go. Does not come unplugged while in tow.
The Wesbar coiled adapter works fine for my needs, functioning perfectly as intended. However, with the drop hitch I need to level my tow bar with my towed vehicle, even at 8', it's a bit of a stretch. I will likely construct a custom connector in the near future, but for now, it works.
Great product -- I originally worried that the tension in the coiled cord might cause the 5 pin flat end to come unplugged but my concerns were unfounded. The towing rig looks much neater with the coiled cord than my previous bunched-up-and-zip-tied flat cord mess and, as a bonus, it's very easy to see this bright yellow cable in the rear view camera on our RV.

Pretty well. I did have the trailer end come unplugged once, not when towing our Jeep Wrangler but when towing a trailer, in cold weather, so the coiled cord was not as stretchy. and the trailer was a rental, so the plug on the trailer end could have been a bit worn.
This item was inexpensive but also made a huge difference in my installation for my 4 wheel down tow behind. I used the 5th connection as a power source (instead of the usual use for backup lights -or backup lock out solenoid- think hydraulic activated boat trailer brakes) to instead recharge my battery while my RV is running, having repositioning my 7 pin line on RV to match the fifth pin. However the benefit is I could eliminate the corrresponding ugly plug normally associated seen in the front grill of the towed car. In my case I used a 5 pin harness located under the hood that would remain unseen when unused but simply flipped out from under the closed hood when used. Outstanding application. coil is resilient after yr+ of use and adequate length for RV to car with typical draw bar distance to cover. Buy again, recommend, YES.

It was shipped fast
I was afraid the 8 foot would be to long. But the coils are tight so it does not sag. It fits perfect. The 5 pin works just as well with a 4 pin plug. It is pictured the exact same as what I received.
The cord insulation is very tough, and thick.

I pull a Jeep Grand Cherokee behind a Class-A motorhome. The Wesbar 7-way to 4-way coiled adapter works great. It is easy to store and easy to hook-up.
I ordered a complete BlueOx towing system including Base Plate, Tow Bar, Locks, Hopkins wiring kit, Brake cable, Patriot Brake System, and covers. Everything arrived within 4-5 days with no missing parts which allowed me to install everything in one day.
Purchased this to use with my RV and my UTV trailer. Its very high quality and does an excellent job of making the electrical connections from my truck and RV to my UTV trailer. I drive in a lot of adverse weather and this connector doesn't seem to wear out compared to its competitors.
I ordered A Coiled Adapter to connect my trams together and I have been very pleased. The product they sell is top notch and the customer service is fantastic. Whether or not your in need of any product they still send and email to check up on their product. Not many companies care like they do!!! Would recommend etrailer to everyone !!
Bought this for my 2018 Duramax. GM was kind enough to put the trailer pug in way up by the license plate. This allows me to hook up a trailer when the light wiring won’t reach. Have had it for a year and used it in all conditions. Still works great.
After ordering the incorrect part, I called customer service, and was provided with the correct part....although it was on back order, it was in stock sooner than expected and sent quickly to me.....once I install the wiring harness on my Jeep, than I can connect it to my Thor Hurricane motorhome and be on my way to see the States.....Was very pleased with the company response to my problem

Thanks for the follow up. All works very well and I am very satisfied with my purchase.
The item arrived quickly and it was exactly as described. Good quality product. I needed an adapter from my RV's connector to the connector on my Jeep being towed and this filled the bill.
So Far So Good.
Now this was my fault. I should of had the flat four prong end... switched with the round (lock in) end.
But I took it to a reputable trailer repair and the switched it for a few bucks.
I'm just anal....I wanted it " locked" into the outlet.....
Came quickly, good quality!!
This is a cheaper option. This connector never really “plugged” in easily, and was not as flexible as I had expected it to be. It worked, but really wasn’t high quality. After 3-4 trips I spent the $100.00 bucks and bought a top brand. No comparison...
George J set me up with everything I needed to tow my Ford truck "wheels down" behind my Winnebago. I'm a total rookie re this Motor home business, but etrailer took good care of me and I got these items for the right price. Looking forward to some great times with this rigging.
All installation instructions were clear, all parts were in box and the ease of installation was rewarded with it working first time.
Advertised as 4 or 5 flat. Incorrect. Will not fit 4 flat

Well, I am still using it with no problems. Never constructed a custom connector because, after a while, the unit is stretched out, so no concern about it pulling free.
