Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2006 Jeep Grand-Cherokee Behind RV
Question:
Have a jeep grand 2006. What do I need to get towed behind a RV? Look at all videos. The wiring hardness that goes from base plate to inside of jeep, is plug and play. Can I do it myself? Thank you

Safe and legal flat towing of a vehicle behind a RV requires a number of components. A tow bar, safety cables, a wiring/lighting kit, base plates and a braking system for the towed car are essential items; a high/low hitch adapter and wiring extension are also often required. The linked article covers each of these in detail and this is a great place to start getting familiar with the requirements.
For base plates I recommend the Blue Ox # BX1123 which will fit your Grand Cherokee as long as it is not the SRT-8 or has a brush guard. For a tow bar I suggest that matching Blue Ox Alpha # BX7380 since it includes the required safety cables, saving you that one expense. For the easiest braking system installation use the Patriot # BLU37TR which is fully portable and wireless. For a lighting harness use Hopkins # HM56206; this avoids the need to cut into your Jeep wiring.
