Does your 4WD option give you the option for a 4 high and a 4 low? If so then you have a 2 speed transfer unit.

Front wheel drive vehicles cannot be flat towed or 4x4 models with 1-speed Power transfer unit. However, if you have the 2-speed power transfer unit 4x4 you can flat tow.

If you want to flat tow your 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plates # BX1136 which are a confirmed fit because of how easy they are to use compared to other kits. Then for a tow bar I recommend the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar # BX7380 which will work well with this base plate kit and is one of the easiest and reliable tow bars on the market.

For lighting I would go with the custom fit kit part # HM56208 as it wouldn't require any splicing or drilling into the light housings. You'll also need the part # 787196 to connect the 7-way of your tow vehicle to 4-way of the Hopkins kit. You will also need the brake lite relay # RM-88400.

For a permanent install braking system I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 as this is going to install easier than most similar kits and is very dependable. It's our installers favorite as after the initial installation this system becomes plug and play.
