Recommended 7-Way to 5-Way Wiring Harness Adapter

Question:

I have a 2017 Toyota SR5 4Runner Premium. I would like to know what I need for a 5 point flat connection to my boat trailer. The SUV has the towing package but no wiring parts. There are 2 connection adapters under the rear end. A 4 point and a round looking one I am guessing is a 7 point. I only had the 5 point flat connection on my 1989 Chevy truck. Thank you.

If you already have a 7-Way connection at the rear of your 2017 Toyota 4Runner then all you will need is an adapter.

Webar has a Coiled Adapter for 7-Way to 4-Way or 5-Way Flat, part # 787196, which will provide power to the tail and running lights, left turn and stop, ground, right turn and stop, and reverse light functions on your trailer. I have attached a link to one of our helpful articles that demonstrates this.

This adapter will work great for you as long as the 5th signal on your trailer side is for the reverse lockout. If the 5th signal is for something else just let me know and I can recommend parts so that you can use the appropriate wiring harness.
