Today we'll be reviewing part number RP58167, this the Reese replacement head for Reese weight distribution systems with trunnion bars. It's going to feature the forged raised ball platform here at this portion. That's going to eliminate the need for a raised hitch ball. You're going to get all the mounting hardware and the serrated washers. The serrated washers are great to have because they actually allow the head to pivot without having to add any additional spacers or washers to the unit. You're going to get the two large bolts, you're going to get the two serrated spacers, you're going to get the spacer here in the middle and you're going to get the lock washers and the nuts.
It is completely set up and ready to be put right on to a shank that is made for weight distribution. Well take a measurement of the ball hole diameter, it's going to give us a measurement of an inch and a quarter so this is designed for hitch balls with an inch and a quarter shank in diameter. It's made from a solid steel construction with a black powder coated finish on it so it is going to stand up really well against rust and corrosion. That's going to do it for today's review of part number RP58167. This is the replacement head for Reese weight distribution system with trunnion bars. .

Replacement for Reese Head that is showing wear after a couple years of use, would rather replace the part than have it fail while traveling.
Just what I needed for a second set up to the same WD-system on the trailer.
It is good to be able to replace only the parts that are worn without having to buy the entire new system.
Good idea to keep the trunnions greased but also to clean it up once in a while and check the wear.
First of all the product was perfect. I made a mistake and ordered the wrong one and Troy was amazing. Since I was busy he worked with my wife to get my mess worked out and helped us a ton. etrailer is a great company and I will be working with them for all my trailer needs in the future. We liked the results of how well the Reese weight distribution and sway control system so much that we went ahead and ordered the parts needed to set up a second vehicle to tow the same trailer. Reese and etrailer.com have made preparing for and towing the race car hauler a breeze! We couldn't ask for a better combination...
Finally got around to installing new hitch equipment. The new shank and Reese head worked out to be a fine combination for my 2018 Ram 2500. The longer shank was what I needed for my camper. Great parts and a great price and fast delivery. thanks a lot. Mike B. Northwood Ohio

Used this hitch all last summer. Works as advertised. Good quality. Has slightly different openings on the underside of the top that the bars angle in to (they go in at a different angle than may old hitch), but it works the same, tomato, tamato! I would definitly recomend this product.

After a year the hitch is working out great!
Great job on all the videos and Q&A posts! Thank you. They gave a good understanding of what I needed and why.
The only issue I have with this head is the tight quarters to tighten the nut for the
1 1/4 shank hole. The nut is a 1 7/8 which is not a common wrench or socket a person has around. Even with the included spacer and a 1" shank ball, the nut is still 1 7/16. A socket, I think, is required as the space in the head is tight. I took the head to a local semi garage and they had the socket to torque the hitch ball nut. Other than that, it is a good solid unit.
This was not my first etrailer purchase nor will it be my last. I needed to replace the hitch head of my Reese Straight-line Trunnion hitch (ofvwhich im a huge fan) after 15+ years of use. etrailer ‘s information and price couldn’t be beat. Throw in quick service and free shipping and it was a no-brainer. They are one of the best companies I’ve ever dealt with.
This was the replacement for the ball mount for the Reese Weight Distribution System I purchased about five years ago. The original ball mount had excessive wear (probably because I didn't know it needed to be lubricated each day while it was being used). This ball mount is exactly the same as the original. I also ordered the replacement bolts and washers (58207) because I didn't understand that the replacement ball mount included all new washers and bolts so these were not needed. etrailer has sent me a return authorization for the bolt and washer kit.
This is a replacement for a hitch head that was broken. It fits perfectly! Delivery was phenomenal!

etraler is the best ,the best customer service in the industry this from areal customer,if you don’t believe me look at their tutorials. Order something from them and see and I’ll bet you’ll be happy with them.
Good quality part, very sturdy construction and all seems to work very well. My only word of advice is there is a good possibility that the very first time you go to insert the trunnion bars to the head, they will be VERY tight and you'll have to use much more force than normal. My only guess is the powder coating took up some of the small tolerance there and you have to get that to wear just a tad first because now after inserting/removing several times everything works nice and easy. Everything else worked really well and seems like a quality piece. My only other note would be that you won't be able to fit an adjustable wrench on the ball nut to tighten down the ball with how the head is designed, you'll either need a socket or a box wrench , or at least that was my case with using a 2-5/16" ball with a 1-1/4" shank.
You can count on Reese trailer equipment for what ever you haul. This is a replacement for my hitch which was stolen, and it also was a Reese so it seems to be the preferred hitch.
Stout hitch or certain, replacing a broken Valley unit. This one looks exponentially stronger, and adjustment is much easier. Using this hitch with Reese 1500 lb bars and reinforced lift brackets.
There was a change in the design of the head - they increased the height of the ball mount area (thicker 1/4" or so). This cause a change in all of the geometry of the Wt. Dist. System, so a complete realignment of the trailer to the truck was required. This turn out to be a good thing! I was at limits on some of my adjustment before and this brought everything to mid range. The towing ride was really improved after the realignment. This is a great improved product.
Fits like a glove. Not really sure why the mounting bolts on the head were cranked to 200 ft lbs shipped. Made job harder with no draw bar for leverage. You'll need some really big 1 1/8" deep well sockets and 24" crank bar for this big boy needs 300 ft lbs torx. Best done when head is attached to draw bar and draw bar is connected to Vehicle. The Ball mount you'll need 2 - 2" wrench's with 3ft pipe to torx ball at 600ft lbs.
One of the best out there for adjustability, strength, and ease of set up.
I use mine with a friction anti-sway bar. After 24 years of Wisconsin corrosion, it was time to replace it, as the very good corrosion coating was finally vanquished.

I haven’t used the trailer yet with the replacement head and trunnions, but everything looked normal and correct. Head was simple and straight forward in replacing along with the trunnions. No issues. Fair price and quick service from etrailer..
Correct part, easy ordering and fast shipping. Came with all new hardware and instructions for hitch setup. I would give it a five star review, but it didn't come with a shim which I thought would be part of the hardware. Had to find that separately.

I received my order the day after placing it. I have replaced the hitch head and everything fit perfectly. Etrailer double checked the part that I requested to make sure it was exactly what I needed.
