Your MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat - Manual Lift - 10 Speed - White # MA00-04000K could be cutting off after 10 seconds for the following reasons:

1. Insufficient or fluctuating power. Your fan could be receiving less than 12v of power. Check the power wire at the unit using a multimeter like # PT89ZR. If you aren't receiving 12v then you could have a voltage drop off due to the length of the wire running from the battery to the fan and would just need to increase the gauge of the wire. You'll also want to check all of the wiring for any loose connections.

2. Circuit boards are model specific so you could have purchased the incorrect board for your model.

3. You could have your fan set to Auto mode which will turn the fan off based on the preset temperature of the thermostat. Ensure your in manual mode and retest the fan.

4. Your fan motor could just be going out and will need to be replaced. You can use the Replacement 12-Volt Variable Speed Fan Motor for MaxxAir MaxxFan RV Roof Vents # MA10-20968.

@Michael This is actually a pretty common issue with vents and it either comes back to a power/ground issue or a faulty control board. You'll want to first check that the unit has a good ground and that the connection is nice and secure. From there you'll need to check the voltage with a multimeter # PT89ZR to make sure it's getting a full 12 volts. A lot of manufacturer's will splice the power for the vent from the lights and the lights can end up drawing too much from the circuit for the vent to properly work. If this is the case you'll need to run a new line to the vent for power to separate it from whatever else it's tied to. If the power and ground aren't the problem then the control board is likely faulty and we'd just need to know your model number to find the correct replacement.
