This replacement auto-lift motor is designed for use in Fan-Tastic Vent roof vents with a 17 rpm motor manufactured in 2014 or after. Now, if your fan is of a lower rpm or manufactured before 2014, this motor will still work but you will need to cross the wires.

Use this 17-rpm auto-lift motor to replace the damaged one in a Dometic FanTastic B Series roof vent with a powered lift arm.I finally found a replacement motor for my Fantastic Fan. The last one I purchased was too short to properly connect to the gear that raised the cover. I had to manually push on the motor to open the cover, which was a pain in the neck.
Fast shipping and part worked well. I would definitely use them again as it came boxes well and worked as it should.
This item was an excellent replacement for our FanTastic fan in our Foretravel motorhome. It was a quick and easy install. Quick shipping and great packaging.

Ordered two , came pretty quick . Installed on roof vent /fan. Worked great.
Purchased this unit and installed reversing wiring as suggested as mine is an older motorhome (2005 ). Would only close ,not open . Tried wiring correctly with same results . Reinstalled old motor. Worked perfectly . Makes for an expensive plastic holder ,as that was the only part needed .

Ed, I am sorry that the replacement motor is not working for you. Typically reversing the wiring for the older motorhomes will do the trick. I would like to ask if you know which model of fan do you have?

Working as it should. I was reading reviews on this unit that said to reverse polarity on other sites. No need for that. This is ove course bit faster than the 8 rpm I replaced but the fit is exact. No problem. I'll buy again if the need arises. Nice people to work with and fast shipping.

The spline drive shaft always strips out. Since the drive shaft is press fitted onto the motor a new motor has to be purchased. If the shaft could be replaced the $70 motor would be saved. A $2.00 replaceable drive shaft would be preferable. I had to purchase 3 motors so far for my coach. Ridiculous!

I didn't think I would be able to find or get NEW lift motors for my rather ancient roof vents, but etrailer had them, provided instructions on how to wire them to operate at the slower speed my vents require, and shipped them to me in just a few days. etrailer is awesome!
The part did not work well. It did not run smoothly. I often wonder when it will die. I had to use it because my old one did not work at all otherwise I I would have returned it. I even ordered a new arm thinking that it would help but no luck.

Man - even after a new motor its still doing this! Lets see if we cant help you figure out whats causing it to act this way. First things first, do you know what model of FanTastic vent you have?

Worked perfectly. I believe in the video they say if replacing a 8rpm to this new motor to cross wire colors but that wasn’t necessary just black to black red to red. Working great!!
My rating is an expectation based on past experience. The product is from FanTastic, and their reputation is already very established. I am expecting the upgrade kit to be a good purchase and welcome addition. The "FIVE" star rating is for etrailer and their service. We've purchased from them in the past, and have never been unhappy. This upgrade kit was delivered several days in advance of my expectations. Thank you, etrailer!

Fantastic!!
Used this unit to replace my damaged motor in my 2005 Fantastic fan. Delivery was quick and was a direct plug and play. Other customers stated the wiring had to be reversed but mine did not. It has been a year and the fan is working perfectly.
This part was almost perfect fit. Installed into Fantastic fan and is now functional.
The good news is this fixed my issue of the fan lid not working. The bad news is this crappy part should have never failed in the first place. The motor on the original failed part was fine. The sleeve that connects to the lift mechanism is what failed. The motor shaft just turned but the sleeve did not
The motor was easy to install. Plug in wires and two screws. The motor runs faster than the old one as is quieter too. I ordered the arm in case I needed it but I didn’t so I have one it if I ever do.
It's a nice hefty piece Very durable. The motor is big and fast. The only issue I had were the wires. I had to adjust them to the sides of the motor to fit in the location & the connectors had to be changed for bigger ones but other than that it works great
Never in my wildest mind did I think we would find this item. Thanks to the expert work of Kelly P she found the correct part needed a fantastic fan replacement motor. And I kid you not, I placed the order and it seemed like there was a knock on the door with our order. BTW we live clear across the US. Special thanks Kelly P and etrailer you all rock our world. Replaced the original which had stripped coupling. Operates in the power mode okay but doesn't have the option for manual mode that was on the original motor. I liked the manual mode in winter to be able to open it slightly to allow venting without the fan and not allowing rain in.
Right product easy to install. Hope it last longer than the original.
This part fit perfectly and works flawlessly. What a simply fix.
