MaxxAir Trailer Vent Lid Will Not Stay Open

you can open fan but it will settle back down. Does not seem to stay wide open. Will replacing the opener 16 b in drawing fix this??

The operator could indeed be the cause of the vent lid not staying open. In order to find the correct replacement we'd need to know the model number found on the inside under the screen. The Replacement MaxxAir Roof Vent Operator part # MA10-20281K-3CF is for manual lift vents and the Replacement MaxxAir Roof Vent Operator part # MA10-20281K-1AF is for power lift vents.

Sounds like you have a damaged or worn out roof vent operator and need to replace it with the part #MA10-20281K-1AF since you said the motor doesn't want to fully open or close the lid and it's difficult to turn by hand.
