Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a quick look at the replacement backing plate and mounting hardware for your Lippert SolidStep RV steps. So if something happened to that original backing plate, it got lost or damaged, this is going to be a direct replacement from the manufacturer to make sure that you can get everything mounted up correctly. Maybe you're switching out to a new step and that backing plate got worn out, or it's just seen better days, this will also get you rolling again.So let's take a closer look at it and make sure that this is the right fit for you. We'll get our steel backing plate, it has that nice powder coat finish, or the finish here, it's kind of a matte black. That's going to keep that protected and rust free for quite a while. And then we'll get our 10 bolts.
These are each going to be about four inches long, and then about a quarter inch in diameter. We'll also get the matching flat washers, lock washers, and nuts to go with that hardware as well. So enough hardware to go in each of those holes to get our steps mounted up and have a nice safe purchase there.Just for reference, I'm going to give you a couple measurements on this backing plate. It's roughly 21 inches long, and about two and three quarter inches, or really more like two and five eights of an inch tall. It looks like our mounting holes, going from the center of each one, are a little less than five inches apart, and about an inch and an eighth apart going this way.
So just a couple of measurements to make sure that this is, again, a fit for your particular application. They are a fit for the SolidStep manual RV steps. And again, should give you a nice, solid place to mount that up and make sure that they're secure on your RV.Well I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is going to be the right replacement part for you. Replaces the installation hardware and backer plate for your Lippert Components SolidStep manual RV steps.BLUF: trailer rates 5 stars, the Lippert Solid Steps get 4 stars, and Lippert/[online vendor] customer service...we're done since I have found a company that actually cares (etrailer.com). I originally ordered the Lippert Solid Steps from [online vendor]The Solid Steps are outstanding, but the box in which they were shipped is so flimsy that ALL of the mounting hardware was lost during transit (the backing plate and all the screws, bolts, washers, and nuts). I tried to get Lippert and/or [online vendor] to send me some replacement hardware, but that was a bridge too far for them. Rather than have a nice set of steps taking up space in my basement, I decided to order this hardware package from etrailer.com and admittedly, I was worried that the hardware would all be lost once again. Thankfully, this kit was exactly what I needed to fully replace all that was lost in the original [online vendor] order, and etrailer shipped this to me with lightning speed in packaged extremely well. All of the hardware arrived with no issues. etrailer, as a business, gets 5 stars from me. Great job, etrailer! I was able to put the Solid Steps into service on my RV trailer yesterday, thanks to you. The Lippert mounting hardware doesn't appear to be the most robust, but it should do the job of holding the steps with no issues. I will look to etrailer for my RV needs in the future.

The plate is exactly what we needed. When shipping out the product, please tape both ends of the bottom of the box as the plate was sliding out both sides of the box and could have been lost during shipping and delivery (picture attached). Thank you.
