Mounting Buttons for Tow-Rax Shelves, Cabinets and Racks - Aluminum - 2.5 mm

Randy: Hey guys, it's Randy here etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Tow-Rax mounting buttons. These are available in a 2.5 or three millimeter, and essentially this allows you to turn any of your Tow-Rax accessories that have the mounting buttons into a very modular system. We can use these. Most of your accessories are going to come with two sets. A lot of guys will like to mount them in their trailer and then in their garage or in their trailer and in their shop, but say you have multiple trailers or multiple locations even, being able to store all of your items inside of your trailer.

But then let's say you get out to the racetrack and you want your tools to be on the outside. You can mount these on the outside of your trailer to where you can just clip all your bins on, clip your table on and have a great spot to mount any of your accessories.They're going to come with hardware. They're a pretty coarse thread. Wood screw is what I would call them. See, these are going to be a nice stainless steel, going to come through and allow us to mount to a lot of different surfaces.

But by design, you can see there's that little taper there, we can use any of our own hardware too. We could even put a quarter inch hex bolt through there and bolt it onto a wall if we wanted, because while that does have that taper to it, once that's in there, even if it sticks up, it's not going to interfere with our cabinets.I really like this. This is going to allow us to mount this to steel, mount it to aluminum, allow you to mount it into hollow walls using anchors or whatever you might have. Of course, we want to get as much structural integrity as we can. By using the side support, so the side braces, we're able to just pull that screw out and put our button right back in place.

That's going to ensure that we've got a nice, solid anchor. With that one in place, we'll just use it as our guide. Get our other one put in here and mark the center of it. That'll be where we thread in our new bolt there.And then we'll hang our shelf back up. We can mark our two bottom locations and just repeat that same process.

As you can see guys, those additional buttons are just going to give us a lot of flexibility in where we can put our cabinets. If you have a need for them, and if you want to have a little bit more modular type system where you can get it anywhere you want it, I'd pick up a few sets and install them where I wanted them.
