Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Gen-Y Hitch three-inch to 2 1/2 inch bolt-on anti-rattle reducer sleeve. Now, this reducer sleeve here will allow you to use a 2 1/2 inch hitch mounted accessory in your three-inch trailer hitch. Basically, this will bolt on to the shank of the 2 1/2 inch ball mount. And then you'll slide the whole ball mount with the shank installed into your three-inch trailer hitch that's on your vehicle.

Now, I do wanna show you it's a very simple installation but I do wanna go through the steps. And basically, what I'm gonna do is I happen to pull a Gen-Y 2 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 inch ball mount. So, you can see it has the two hitch pin holes. So basically, with your reducer sleeve right here, when you go to install this, what you'll wanna do is you'll notice it has the two hitch pin holes here that you'll line up with the ones on the shank. But also, you notice there's two set screws on this side and then two right up here at the top.

So, when you do go to install this, again, you'll loosen these set screws enough to where you can slide it on. And then what you'll do is line it with the hitch pin holes. And the best way to do that is I have found out if you just slide out one of these hitch pins like right here and they keep it lined up, just so ahead and slide it through there and that'll keep it lined up for you. And then what you wanna do is take your 3/16 size Allen wrench. And you'll first go ahead and tighten the set screws on the side here.

And again, by putting that hitch pin in, it helps you keep it aligned properly. And then go up to the top and tighten the two set screws on the very top. And once you get those snugged down, slide out your pin. And then you'll notice it's installed securely onto the shank. So now, it's giving you a three-inch by three-inch that allow you to slide into your hitch.

Now, when you do install this, it will require a hitch pin and clip to hold this in place. Now, that is not included. You would have to supply that or we do sell those separately. You can get a pin and a clip or a hitch lock and we sell them separately on our website. This part is made in the USA. And then again, if you're gonna remove it, just go ahead and loosen the set screws right up here at the top. Loosen the two on the sides. And then they'll be able to slide your reducer sleeve right off. Simple as that. Go ahead and slide this part right off.
