I bought this drop down to tow my enclosed trailer behind my Humvee. Because of the nearly two foot ground clearance I wanted a sturdy hitch but still tow a level trailer. This fit the bill 100%. I was not disappointed in this unit. First of all it’s heavy. And that’s a good thing in my mind. Secondly it fit like a glove. Great powder coating and really sweet hardware. Every inch of this hitch is top quality. You can’t go wrong with the price or with etrailer. Best customer service and quick shipping. I highly recommend you chose this hitch if you need a substantial drop and DON’T buy from anywhere but etrailer.

by:

Should be the last hitch I need to buy, is rated for close to what a 2020 F150 with max tow package can haul, in pic mine is at 17.5 inches high which levels my trailers, I got the 10 inch drop but the 6 in one would have worked. Get the 6 in one for this truck if you are worried about it dragging off road. I got the 10 in to cover all future needs with any truck I may tow with

Perfect for towing different trailers, easy changeover

Perfect for hooking up different trailers to my vehicle, either by height or by trailer ball size

by:

This product is still working great and I continue to enjoy the convenience of not having to store multiple size hitches.

by:

Too much play in this hitch... it works fine when driving at speed but it clunks a lot and the little bit of play allows the trailer to jar my truck. A rigid drop hitch would be preferable.

Thank you for your review. You can use an anti-rattle device at the start of the hitch, but no other devices will fit at the joints of the ball mount. Part # RM-061

by:

Heavy duty built and the cheapest price on the market. Highly recommend this adjustable hitch.

Flawlessly! This hitch stays in all of time. It has even prevented damage to my pickup after being rear ended by a car and didnt damage the hitch either. I would recommend this hitch to anyone but I would like to have an option for 1-78 ball.

Fastway no longer has a dual ball mount with a 1-7/8" ball option or a way to change the ball out. The closest option we have is the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount part # BWTS10050B which is designed with a tri-ball design including the 1-7/8" ball and has a 9" drop and 9-1/2" rise.

by:

It's a great strong hitch for what I do. I do landscaping on the side and I haven't had a single problem with it for the last year. If something happened to this hitch I'd definitely buy it again. It's been well worth the purchase!

Jacob J.

3/10/2021

Ive not had any issues with it and its been a great product!

by:

The set screw that holds the dual ball assembly in will not stay tight, no matter how much lock tite you use, so i had to weld it in. Because I can weld i did but others would have to find a shop to do it and that would not be cheap. Other than the set screw problem I would have given 5 star. I do like it and would buy again.

I reached out to the manufacturer about the movement in the ball mount hitch ball. With a double ball adjustable ball mount the hitch balls are not tightened down by a hitch ball nut. They have a bolt that goes through the middle of the double ball. Because of the different design you could see some movement in the hitch ball. This is normal on all double ball draw bars.

by:

Looks like I'll finally be able to haul my trailer level for a change. Looks great and was shipped exactly as they said they would. Thank you.

Still pulling its load!!!

by:

Love this hitch! It’s made well, it’s fast and easy to change ball sizes and height and doesn’t require any tools. I’ve been using it to pull a small travel trailer and a 20’ 10,000lb flatbed trailer.

by:

Delightful find
This is a great product
at a great price. Hopefully you find this item before purchasing a similar product at a much higher price.

by:

Purchased this ball hitch for my 2018 Ram Power Wagon. Was looking for a ball hitch with a drop so a can haul any of the three trailers I own. This hitch is well made and looks like it will last a long time. It comes with a 2" and 2 5/16" ball. The only down side is one of the trailers I own has a 1 7/8" receiver. I would have liked to find a ball that mounds on this hitch that size. Maybe they make one. I just haven't found it yet. Shipping time was great. I would recommend this hitch to anyone looking for a solid ball mount with a decent drop to keep your trailers level. Makes all the difference in the world towing when the trailer is hitched at the right height.

by:

Super heavy duty and works well for my F150 with a 6” lift and 35” tires. I have bottomed it out when the bed is loaded down and I’m driving on a pot holed dirt road. Zero damage though.

Still works great. I’ve knocked of some of the paint from use but only really minimal rust.

This hitch solved my problem of lowering the height from my Tahoe to pull a trailer for my side by side. Excellent construction and quality. Highly recommend this hitch and company!!

by:

Whenever I need something for one of my trailers, I go to etrailer.com to find out what’s available at a good price. I needed a trailer hitch that provided significant rise.
Sure enough etrailer had all sorts of options for me.. my boat trailer is towed by several trucks and the trailer was bottoming out.
I bought a hitch that provides The adjustability up to 10 inches of rise. While I haven’t used it yet, the hitch looks very substantial and it will provide the adjustability I was looking for.
Very satisfied with my purchase.

by:

I like the transition ball from a 2 inch to the 2 5/8 I think that's wht the balls are. Anyways I have a 2500 cummins that has 37s and a 8 inch lift. I pull my 30 ft boat and trailer weighing 8500 pds and it has no problem. I pull 40 ft horse trailers and also a 44ft travel trailer and no problem.

by:

Looks great.. Glad I waited... Came one day early.

by:

The etrailer staff were very efficient, and I received my 10" drop down hitch within a few days of placing the order. I highly recommend doing business with etrailer !!

by:

Never had a bad experience with etrailer. Don’t forget to order the locking hitch pins like I did. If you pull different trailers this hitch is very handy.

by:

The long extension is fantastic. Works great with my 2002 Yukon. I needed a 6 inch riser to get my trailer level for better towing. I regularly swap it to different heights as I own several vehicles with various ride heights. Super happy with it.

by:

Very good solid hitch, fast service, felt very safe hooking on to my horse trailer and going down the road. Nothing light duty with this hitch or pin's

by:

Thanks

by:

I love etrailers customer service. They are very thorough with the tracking information and following up to see how you are satisfied with their products. They go the extra mile to make sure you feel important as a customer. Keep up the awesome customer service guys!! It’s why I keep coming back!!

by:

I like the hitch. I pull several different trailers, and I can adjust my hitch to tow the trailer in a fairly level position.

by:

Drop down hitch was perfect. easily adjustable for my two different trailers including ball size. It arrived Friday and I already put it to use. I'll be ordering from etrailer in the future.

  • How Much Drop Is Needed to Tow a Trailer With a 19 Ram 1500 That Has a 6 Lift?
Choosing the correct amount of drop for your ball mount will depend on a few things. First, with the tow vehicle parked on level ground, you will need to measure from the ground to the top of your hitch receiver opening. Next, with the trailer level, measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler. You will then subtract the coupler measurement from the hitch measurement. This will get you the amount of drop needed to tow the trailer as level as possible. With all that being said,...
