Video Transcript for Review of Bulldog Cross Shaft Extension Tube - BDCS730300

Hello, neighbors. I'm Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at the Cross Shaft Extension Tube for the Bulldog Tandem Landing Gear. That's right, folks, you can add a cross shaft like this to your Bulldog 5th wheel landing gear, and I'll put them item numbers up there on the screen for you. And that'll allow you to crank one side of the jack, and then turn both landing and gear sides in tandem at the same time. So this is a one inch thick tube, or one inch round diameter, rather, on the outside, by 72 and three quarter inches long.

It has a nice limited five year warranty. And you're gonna get the two bolts, the washers, and the lock nuts to go with it. Now on the ends, let me move one of these so you can see it. You got holes on both ends of this. That's for the bolt to go through onto the rod on the jack.

I don't know if you can see it too well, but this is supposed to have a black powder coat finish. As you can see, it's kind of scratch and marred up. It looks like it's kind of peeling off. So I'm not too impressed with the powder coat finish on this. I was told all the ones that we got pretty much kind of look the same.

So I don't know if that was a coating issue or what, so I'm just letting you know that upfront. But that being said, it does look like that same black pipe kind of tubing for gas and stuff that you see in hardware stores. So it could just be oxidation over time and whatnot. Obviously, it's gonna look this way over time whenever you put it under your trailer and that kind of thing, so you might wanna touch up with some black spray paint or something. Well, folks, that is gonna wrap it up for our look at this Cross Shaft Extension Tube.

I'm Steven. Thanks so much for watching. Have a great day.

Products and fine, a little worn from bouncing around in torn boxes. Do not know if there was a clip to hold crank handle in box, if it was it is gone.

  • Dual Jack Landing Gear for Gooseneck Trailer Transporting Large Water Tank
The weight of 1600 gallons of water, without the water tank's own weight factored in, is about 13,350-lbs. For such a high-weight application I suggest Bulldog Square Jacks # BD182804 and # BD182805 along with Connecting Rod # BDCS730300. Two jacks are definitely the way to go. If you wish to motorize this jack setup you can also add motor kit # BD1824200100. I also recommend you first determine the actual pin weight of the loaded trailer so that you can be sure to select jacks with high...

  • Recommended 2-Speed Jack for a 34 Foot Gooseneck Flat Bed Trailer
I have a couple options for you but there isn't a electric kit for a 2-speed jack that we currently offer. The Bulldog powered-drive kit # BD1824200100 for a single speed jack is a solid option. To use this setup, you will need 2 single speed jacks like # BD1823050383 and the Bulldog powered-drive kit # BD1824200100 and the cross shaft # BDCS730300. For a 2-speed setup, I recommend using the 2-speed tandem landing gear set # BD500153 and the cross shaft # BDCS730300. Having a 2-speed...

  • Can Two of the Bulldog Square Jacks Part # BD182805 Be Used in Tandem
In order to use two of the Bulldog Square Jack part # BD182805 in tandem you will need to take out the vertical pinion bevel gear in the passenger's side jack and rotate that 180 degrees. This will allow you to use two of these jacks in tandem on a trailer. I have attached a review video that shows how to replace the gears for you which you could then use to help you rotate the pinion bevel. If you do not already have the handle for this jack then you can use part # BD015181. You will...

8,000 lb jacks are going to be the highest rated landing gear sets we offer that will bolt right up to your trailer without modification. If what you really want something high capacity that would make easy work of your trailer the Bulldog Set part # BD500153 has a capacity of 45,000 lbs. You would need the extension tube part # BDCS730300 as well. You will need to modify the mounting brackets on your trailer to fit this...

  • Best Single Speed Jack To Pair With 2 Speed Square Tube Jack
These are both great questions! Jacks with 2 speeds have the gears changed by either moving the handle to a different spot on the jack, or having the handle pushed in or pulled out to change the gear that is engaged- with this specific jack, you'll push the handle in or pull it out to change speeds. With a dual speed jack, the input speed is changed but the output speed does not change, so you would be able to use a 2 speed jack as the lead leg and a single speed jack as the follow- so...

  • Can a Powered Drive Kit be Added to a Trailers Landing Gear
The Bulldog Powered-Drive Kit # BD1824200100 that you referenced is designed to fit Bulldog single speed landing gear jacks with a 12k capacity. If that is what you have on your trailer this would work well for you. There isn't a universal motor kit that will work with most landing gear sets. You will need to determine who made the jacks of your trailer so that you can see if there is a powered drive kit available for it. Otherwise you will need to upgrade your jacks to a Bulldog set...

For your 20 Foot double axle log trailer with 14K GVWR, I recommend the Bulldog 2-Speed Tandem Landing Gear Set - Weld On - 17" Lift - 45,000 lbs # BD500153. • How To Use Two Square Direct Weld Jacks Together
The Square Direct Weld Jack part # TJD-12000SP-F2 can be used in tandem. The only thing you would need to do so would be a cross shaft which would be some sort of bar that attaches the two output shafts to one another. This is assuming you want both jacks to turn at the same time and not have independent operation with two handles. In regards to the cross shaft, you should be able to cut the Cross Shaft Extension Tube part # BDCS730300 to make it work.

  • Powered Landing Gear Recommendation for a Loaded PJ Work Trailer
There isn't a motor that can be added to the Pro Series Jacks part # PS1400960376. But if you are in the market for that style system, I recommend using # BD182804, and then add motor assembly # BD1824200100. You can also add # BDCS730300 and # BD182805.

  • Recommended Gooseneck Trailer Powered Landing Gear for Completely Weather Exposed System on Trailer
When landing gear like # LG-1 is used on exposed trailers the electric component needs to be covered. Most of the time this is done with a custom sheet metal box as it doesn't take much just to shield the motor from the elements. The legs are powder coated and the gear box is aluminum, so you won't have issues with them being exposed, but the motor is another story. Your other option is to use a jack like the Bulldog Velocity Series Electric Landing Gear Jack # BD185400 or for a more...
