Video Transcript for Review of Bulldog Winch - Electric Winch - BDW20247

Today we're going to take a look at the Bulldog winch 400 amp shutoff switch with the removable key. This 400 amp battery disconnect switch is for powering on and off the main power line on your Bulldog winch wiring kit. Prevents constant power to the quick connect. It's commonly used in vehicle mounted power cables to prevent accidental shorts.Has the removable key for added security and includes the attached cover so when you go to use it you just take the cover off, take your key, go ahead and insert it in there. That will turn it off, and that will turn it on. It is a single pulse, single throw master disc connect switch. It's all in a plastic housing.Distance between the mounting holes, there's two mounting holes there.

Center to center it's going to be right at two and a half inches. Volts is 12 to 24 volts and the maximum amperage is 400 amps. That should do it for the review on the Bulldog winch 400 amp shut off switch with the removable key.

Product delivered prior to promised time- great job. Installed today. I am using it on my RXV golf cart, they are now targets for thieves who want the batteries for illegal operations. The switch mounts easily and is unobtrusive- let’s hope it works!

  • Does 400 Amp Bulldog Winch Shut-Off Switch Fit Bracket of 200 Amp Shut-Off Switch
The bracket of the 200 amp Bulldog Winch Master Power Shut-Off Kit # BDW20079 will not fit with the Bulldog Winch 400 Amp Shut-Off Switch - Removable Key # BDW20247. The Shut-Off Switch # BDW20247 does have holes on its base that are spread 2-1/2 inches apart on center which are used for mounting, but there isn't a bracket for this switch.

  • Battery Disconnect Switch to Use with Vermeer Chipper with Electric Starter
We have two options for you to consider. We have the Bulldog 500 amp switch part # BDW20248 which would work well or we have the 400 amp switch part # BDW20247 instead which has a removable key on it which would act as a theft deterrent possibly. Both of these have mounting holes which will allow you to easily mount them as long as there's an available area on chipper but it's hard to be more specific than that as you'll need to provide hardware to allow this application to install the...

  • Recommendation for Wiring T 6V Batteries in Series with Disconnect Switch
For your 2011 Monaco Monarch, the two 6 volt batteries will be wired in series so your output will be 12 volts but your capacity remains consistent. I recommend connecting your batteries using the Deka 2/0 Gauge Overmolded Battery Cable Harness Assembly - 7" Long # DW04362. You will run this between the positive terminal of one battery and the negative terminal of the other battery with the positive terminal of that battery providing output to your components. I've attached a diagram...

  • Does Putting an On and Off Switch on an Everchill Refrigerator Void the Warranty
I spoke with my contact for you at Everchill and on your Everchill Refrigerator for RVs - 12V part # 324-000119 they do not recommend adding in your own switch. That being said they would likely give you trouble if you had any issues with the unit. Not all hope is lost here though. I have a couple of solutions for you. If you're only trying to shut down the refrigerator then you can locate the fuse in your power distribution center and pull that fuse. That will stop power from being...

  • Shut-Off Switch Needed for Recovery Winch
If you are anticipating needing a switch that is rated for 350 amps then we will need to find you a different switch as the Master Power Shut-Off Kit # BDW20079 is only rated for up to 200 amps. For your application I recommend using the 500 Amp Shut-Off Switch # BDW20248 or the 400 Amp Shut-Off Switch # BDW20247 which has a removable key. Neither of these options come with a mounting bracket like the one you mentioned but you could mount them to the Mounting Bracket # PK12711U which would...

  • Correct Way to Connect a Breakaway Battery and Winch Battery to 12V Power on Trailer 7-Way
A diode like the part # RM-690 is a great idea but the only issue is that is has a max load of 85 amps. A standard 5,000 lb winch, like the ComeUp DV-5000si # CU645010, will greatly exceed the 85 amp rating of the diode so it would be useless. What you will want to do is install a battery disconnect like part # BDW20247 (400 amps max), part # BDW20248 (500 amps), or part # DW05312 which completely disconnects them. You can then reconnect the batteries once you are connected to your tow...

  • Battery Disconnect Switch for Forest River Surveyor During Storage
You have a couple of different options when it comes to disconnecting the power from your batteries when your Forest River Surveyor is in storage and they all just depend on your personal preference as to which one is best for you. What you are likely referring to is something like the Epicord # 277-000096 which you rotate the key to the on and off position when you want to use the batteries for power. If you are looking for something a little more secure though we also have the Bulldog...
