Mounting Suggestion For E-track To Aluminum Utility Trailer

Question:

I would like to take advantage of the versatility of the E-track system on my aluminum utility trailer, Alumina 6810 HBT. Im looking for suggestions or recommendations for mounting the track to the aluminum deck. I was thinking of using track on the deck and the same track on the under side and through bolting the 2 tracks together at intervals along the length. Thinking of using track on the underside simply because the holes should align. Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated. Tried to attach a couple of photos of the trailer and underside of deck, not sure if they made the message or not Thanks

For your Aluma 6810 HBT trailer, I recommend the Erickson Horizontal E-Track - Zinc Coated Steel - 2,000 lbs - 5' Long - Qty 1 # E19148 along with the E-Track Backing Plate - Zinc Plated Steel - 6" Long x 6" Wide # e96RR. This will save you the expense of the dual track and will allow you the flexibility of plates between the braces or around them.

This track also comes in 4 foot # EM19147, and 2 foot # EM59150. I recommend using the E-Track Plastic End Cap # ET8730 to finish your tracks.

For versatile tie downs, I recommend the Erickson E-Track Tie-Off w/ D-Ring - 2" Wide x 8-1/4" Long - 1,200 lbs # E59143 or the rings # 59131 if you already have ratcheting straps. If you want specific E-Track straps, I recommend the Erickson E-Track Strap with Ratchet - 2" Wide x 12' Long - 1,166 lbs # EM59136

Is there a corrosion issue due to the dissimilar metals involved when using the galvanized steel Erickson products on an aluminum trailer? If so, any suggestions on how to address this?

Scott, we recently had just done install of galvanized etrack in an aluminum car hauler. We went to our local pool supply store and we used strips of pool liner to act as a barrier between the etrack and the aluminum trailer. Simple and easy solution to keeping your trailer look nice!
