Tie-Downs to Secure UTV to Aluminum Trailer

Question:

Hi, I have a mission all aluminum trailer and need to add 4 tie downs to it. Which do you suggest being that the bed is aluminum and worried about using a dissimilar metal. Also, I need strong enough to tie down a UTV. Thanks

Since you have an aluminum trailer I suggest using a tie-down that has a backing plate like # RR5K. This will help reinforce the tie-down since aluminum may not hold up. It would be even better if you can install the tie-downs to the frame of the trailer. This tie-down has a 5,000 pound capacity so that won't be an issue for your UTV.

To avoid any oxidation or reaction between the aluminum and steel you should use some sort of gasket material. Pretty much anything that can be cut to size and won't deteriorate will work fine.
