  • Multiple pre-drilled holes make plates compatible with horizontal or vertical E-tracks
  • Galvanized steel construction is strong and corrosion resistant

  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Quantity: 2 backing plates
  • Dimensions (each): 6" long x 6" wide x 1/8" thick
  • 4-Bolt mounting pattern: 4-1/2" x 4"
  • Limited lifetime warranty

Note: The included hardware lets you mount your E-track on surfaces up to 2" thick.

Product Dimensions

These backing plates provide more support for your E-track (sold separately) than only using wood or metal screws. Simply put, they allow the pulling force to be distributed over a greater area. This prevents your mower, ATV, or other heavy object from pulling your E-track away from its mounting surface and tearing up your trailer's wall or floor. They're perfect for trailers with thin walls or floors.

Pre-Drilled Holes

Product Dimensions

Pre-drilled holes accommodate the standard 4-bolt mounting pattern found on most horizontal or vertical E-tracks. There are also holes to accommodate D-rings, Snap-Locs, and odd-shaped tie-down anchors.

Simple, Bolt-On Installation

Installed

To install, drill pilot holes in your mounting surface as close as you can to each end of your E-track and directly in the middle so that the plates will be evenly spaced. Place your E-track where you're mounting it and insert the included bolts. On the opposite side of your wall or floor, place the plates over the bolts and secure them using the included washers and nylon lock nuts.

Fast delivery and exactly what I was looking for. Just gathering the materials for transforming my enclosed utility trailer to as bike hauler. Hopefully this will all come together in the next 45 days.

These backing plates work as advertised - and are greatly appreciated.

One bolt came with a round head on it for some reason. Have to replace that one

That is a bit unusual. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you. We can have a replacement bolt sent out.

Worked great for e tracks in floor. Would definitely get these if installing e tracks.

by:

Back plates are very easy to install as the holes are universal enough to fit about any pattern of bolting the tracks in place. They seem sturdy enough to get the job done. I cannot attest to how long they will hold up as I just installed them, but I would expect they will last a long time. However, I actually plan to seal mine with undercoating to ensure longevity.

by:

I was actually missing a few of these from my order and etrailer was immediately responsive and got the missing parts out to me right away. Will definitely be doing business here again.

by:

This was a super handy device. I used it to secure my toolbox to the floor in the trailer.

Looks well made

by:

Great backing for thin floors. When in doubt, don't doubt!

by:

Quick and easy... better price by ordering 8 2-packs than ordering the 16-pack... Saved some bucks.

  • E Track Mounting Recommendations
Absolutely, you can mount E track just about anywhere it will fit. We had a customer send in a picture of his E track mounted sided to side on his trailer so the pressure is across all the decking instead of just one board. You can check out the pictured I linked. I recommend using E-Track Backing Plate # e96RR when installing E track. The backing plate reinforces and improves the tie-down support of your E-track system by mounting to the opposite side of the E track (essentially sandwiching...

  • Wheel Chock Recommendation for a Honda Goldwing 1800
It looks like the front tire on your Goldwing is a 130 width meaning it is just a little bit over 5 inches wide. This would be a great fit for the Rack'Em Manufacturing Removable Wheel Chock # RA-17 which accepts tires up to 6-1/2 inches wide. There isn't a backing plate that comes with it or a specific one designed for it but I do recommend using one such as # e96RR since a full dress Goldwing is a heavy bike. You will likely have to drill holes in this backing plate though.

  • Will the E-Track Backing Plate # e96RR fit with Erickson Horizontal E-Track Part E19148 or E19135
The Erickson horizontal E-tracks # E19148 and E19135 will both have 2-inch mounting hole spacing and will work with the # e96RR backing plate. I went to our warehouse to measure the backing plate with the E-tracks and they will fit just fine. The width center eye to eye is 4-1/2 inches and the length center eye to eye is 4-inches. The holes in the backing plate are only 1/16 of an inch larger than 4-1/2 inches, and the minimal difference is not enough to prevent a screw from running through...

  • Backing Plates and Wheel Nets for E-Track System
I have a solution for you, but the CargoSmart X-Track Cargo Organizer Pro Bundle # 3481788-P does not come with any backing plates, but you can add them with the E-Track Backing Plate # e96RR. You will need to drill new holes in this backing plate in order to make it compatible with the CargoSmart X-Tracks, but this is the only option we have available. While there aren't any wheel straps like the Pro Grip # 317-18900 that fit in the E-Track rails, you can use the Erickson E-Track Tie-Down...

  • Should E-Track Be Attached to Trailer Frame for Installation
When installing an E-track, such as # E19148, it is always best to attach the track to the trailer's main structural components, such as the frame, when possible. The frame will provide the best support for the system. The E-Track Baking Plate # e96RR works well to help reinforce the E-track when the frame is not located in the area where you need to install your E-track. The installation process for the E-track can vary on a trailer to trailer and cargo to cargo basis. To be sure your...

  • What Hardware Should I Use to Install Erickson E-Tracks
Yes. A 304 or 18-8 bolt (which have the same makeup) will be sufficient to mount the Erickson E-Tracks and carry your 1700-lbs UTV. I would also recommend using a the E-Track Backing Plate # e96RR to add strength and improve tie-down support. If you also need some wheel chocks that fit in these E-tracks, the Erickson E-Chock Wheel Chock # EM09162-2 make a great addition to your new E-track setup since they fit directly into the Erickson E-tracks and provide a solution to eliminate movement...

  • How to Attach E-Track to Enclosed Trailer Wall
When attaching e-tracks like the part # E19148 typically people run the bolts through the track, then through the wall or floor they are attaching the track to, through the backing plate like part # e96RR, and then finally the nuts get threaded onto the bolts. Check out the install video I attached to see how this is done usually. If you wanted to route the bolts the opposite way that would be possible as well. A lot of the times each application varies slightly and calls for something...

  • Backing Plate Recommendation for E-Track for Securing Track to Wood Floor Trailer
The E-Track like part # E19148 that you referenced has a capacity of 2,000 lbs so it would do well securing a 2,500 lb trailer at 4 points as each track would have 1/2 the weight. I would recommend you use backing plates below the floor of your trailer like part # e96RR since your tractor is pretty heavy and the floor of your trailer is wood. For D-Rings to install in the track you would want the part # E59143 so that you could use a ratchet strap like the # EM01314.

  • E-Track Parts to Secure Rock Crawler on Deck Trailer
It is best to have E-Tracks like # E19148 installed in the direction of travel for securing a vehicle. The previous owner of the trailer may have had a specialized cargo application that required left-to-right positioning of the tracks. That's fine for tool boxes and equipment but for a 2-1/2-ton vehicle with a high center of gravity it is safer to have the wheel nets like # 77314 installed without twists or lateral tension. It's no big deal to make the minor modification needed. You don't...

  • Can E-Track Be Installed Over Rubber Non-Ski Covering On Wood Floor in Trailer
You should really attach E-Track directly to the wood floor of the trailer by trimming the rubber covering in the area you want to mount the track. Also I recommend using several E-track backing plates, # e96RR, under the wood floor so that the force applied to the wood floor is spread out over a wider area. this will help prevent the E-track from pulling out when a load is pulling on it.

  • Do I Need To Use Backing Plates For Installation of E-Track in Ford Transit Cargo Van
If you cannot secure the Erickson Horizontal E-Track # E19148 to the frame of the vehicle, you will need to use a backing plate like the etrailer Backing Plate # e96RR to help provide a more secure connection to the wall of your Ford Transit cargo van. Since the wall of the van is likely aluminum and these tracks and backing plate are made of steel, you will either need to paint both mating surfaces, as well as the hardware that you're using to secure them to the floor. • Is Steel Backing Plate Needed to Install Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit
The installation method you mention for the # EM09160 Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit should be sufficient to hold down your 800 lb ATV, but I'd personally feel better if you could tie in to a metal crossmember under the trailer decking or use a backing plate like # e96RR. The backing plate is made by a different manufacturer so the holes won't match up perfectly. You'll need to drill a new set of holes in each plate. I'm a big believer in overkill, and by using a backing plate, you'll...

  • Best Way to Install E-Track to Utility Trailer
You can mount the E-Track Trailer Cargo Control, # EM59150, using wood screws if the mounting surface is wood. If it is sheet metal, I would use sheet metal screws. Basically, match the screw with the material you are mounting to. There is no recommended way of installing the E-Track as installation is the responsibility of each individual installer. The more points you can contact the trailer frame, the more secure the spare tire will be. You might also want to consider using a backing...

  • What Is the Weigh Capacity Of the CargoSmart Folding Track Brackets 3481744
There is not a listed weight capacity for the CargoSmart Folding Track Brackets part # 3481744 because much of this comes from how you attach the tracks that these brackets fit in. That said, I don't think you will have any issues using this as a fold out bed for say a 250 lb person so long as the tracks are attached securely. If you need to further secure the tracks to bear more weight you can use backing plates, part # e96RR.

  • Recommended Solution for Tie Down Anchors to Use Wheel Nets on Aluminum Trailer
I recommend using e-tracks like the Erickson Horizontal E-Track - Zinc Plated Steel - 2,000 lbs - 5' Long # E19148 because of the flexibility these provide you in regards to getting your UTV positioned. Because these are zinc plated steel, there won't be any corrosive reaction with your aluminum trailer, so there's nothing to worry about in that regard. I do recommend using the E-Track Backing Plates # e96RR. I do believe that this will also require less drilling than drilling 4 holes each...

The hardware you use to attach the # E19148 E-Track to your trailer deck is really up to you. You will want to make sure the hardware is long enough to go through the E-Track and the 2x8 and still have enough length to use washers with the nuts. I recommend stainless steel or zinc plated hardware so you don't have to worry about corrosion. The best way to attach it is to use hardware in every other hole on the track. If you can get your tie down straps around 45 degrees or slightly higher when securing your Harley you would be setup pretty good. This number is more of a guideline than a rule though. Your best bet would be to mock up everything first and then make sure everything would fit properly. • Installing E-Track to Metal Floor of Car Hauler
There isn't a set rule, but I'd recommend bolting the e-track into place. The distance between fasteners will depend on the nature and structure of the floor of your trailer. If the metal floor has a sturdy wood backing, I'd attach the e track about every 6 inches or so, making sure that some of the fasteners are going into the frame members of the trailer if possible. Using backing plates like part # e96RR would be a good idea, as well.

  • Installation Of E-TRack System In Trailer With Steel Cross Beams And 3/4 Inch Plywood
Since the E-Track Backing Plate, part # e96RR is 1/8 inch thick, I think using 3/4 inch long screws with the backing plate, 3/4 inch plywood, and the E-Track will work just fine. To really secure the E-Track to your trailer, I would recommend using the backing plate in any location that the track is not being mounted to the steel beam. This would keep the strength really consistent for the entire track system to hole the Harleys.

The Snap-Loc E-Track Tie-Down Anchor - Square Mounting Hole - Bolt On # SLSB will work well for your application as long as you mount it to the stud or use a backing plate like the E-Track Backing Plate - Zinc Plated Steel - 6" Long x 6" Wide # e96RR to reinforce your wall for strength. Just because the anchor is rated for 1000 lbs wouldn't mean your walls can handle that kind of weight without reinforcement, so use your best judgment as damage could occur if misused.
