Video Transcript for Review of Reese Replacement Weight Distribution 800 lbs TW Round Spring Bar - RP58114

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Reese replacement weight distribution system spring bar. Now, this replacement cam style spring bar works with your Reese weight distribution systems. This does have a tongue weight range between 400 pounds to 800 pounds, and so, if you have an 800 pound tongue weight weight distribution system and you're needing an exact replacement for one of your spring bars, whether you've lost it or whatever the case may be, this is gonna be an exact replacement from Reese, so you can trust it is gonna fit right in there. Or if you have a different weight capacity, weight distribution system, you're needing to switch out the spring bars for a lighter trailer or something like that, these will also work for you as well. We do have the round bar shape, and this is hot rolled and tapered for superior strength and flexibility.

You can see on the end here it is curved to be compatible with the dual cam sway control, so if your system has that, it will work there. This does not have the chains or hardware to connect to the chains, so you can reuse your original if you have it or sold separately as well. So, if you are just needing to replace one of those original bars again, either as an exact replacement or as a adjustment for a smaller trailer or a different trailer size, this is gonna be a great way to go. And that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com.

Thanks for watching.

This was a replacement to one of my bars that was lost. the other bar was straight at the end. This one has a bend in it, but it works just fine. Fast shipping and great customer service.

After losing this bad boy on a camping trip, I was overjoyed that I could get exact replacement with E-Trailer! Love the assortment , speed and above all great price. Thank you E-Trailer....

Purchased these bars when I upgraded to the dual cam sway control system. The bars are great. They do what they are supposed to . Etrailer was great! Super fast shipping, and their prices can't be beat. I only wish that I had bought the 1200 lb. bars instead since my tongue weight is border line for the 800 lb bars.

I never write reviews. I think they are a waste of my time and would rather zoom over to [online vendor] to read the reviews about sugar free gummy bears. If you don't know what I'm talking about, head over after you read this for a few great laughs and ideas to torment your friends and enemies.

Ok, review is excellent because I have had contact throughout the entire process to let me know it was shipped all the way to letting me know it was delivered. Nothing pushy, nothing saying subscribe to our 1000 emails a week newsletter. Just an honest and great customer service experience on my end. I 100% recommend to people.

Remember to stay in communication, if an order is incorrect, stay in communication with the company to get it fixed, DON'T blast them for screwing up. We are all humans with flaws. Forgive and forget, then go CAMPING!

This is a replacement round spring bar that you would use on a Reese Weight Distribution System like item # RP67509.

Great product at a great price but did not fit my application, bars made after 2008 have a different lock in method and do not fit the old spring and pin design. I had to return bars and find older style RES58114 not RP58114

by:

I have a 10 year old Reese hitch and I needed to downsize from 1200 lb bars to these 800 lb bars for my smaller trailer. Worked great and received within the promised shipping time!

by:

My local camper dealer suggested I try Etrailer. I was short on time. Perfect fit, arrived early, in time for camping trip. Kudos to UPS as well

by:

The price for the bar was the cheapest I could find & shipping was pretty quick. No problems with anything. Good quality & prices. Will definitely buy again from etrailer

  • Replacement Lift Brackets and Sway Control Recommendation for Reese Weight Distribution System
It sounds like you are talking about the lift brackets such as # RP6637. They attach to the trailer frame and hold the chains at the ends of the spring bars. As far as sway control the best option is going to depend on the design of the spring bars in your weight distribution system. If the bars have the hook end like bar # RP22225 then dual-cam sway control # RP26002 is the best option because it stops sway before it starts. If your spring bars are straight at the ends then your best...

  • Weight Distribution Recommendation for 2015 Chevy Equinox Towing 3,200 lb Trailer
I have a really great solution for you, but the tongue weight range of the Curt system you mentioned is too small for your trailer with most likely a 320 lb tongue weight. Ideally you pick a system where the loaded tongue weight of your trailer falls right into the middle of the range. So for a similar system that would work well we have the part # RP65509 which has a tongue weight range of 200-600 lbs. The Curt only has a 500-600 lb tongue weight range. This will work great with your...

  • Replacement Spring Bar For Draw Tite 1000 lb Weight Distribution Hitch
I can certainly point you in the right direction. Generally we like to confirm the model number of your specific weight distribution hitch in order to recommend a spring bar. There have been a few different 1,000 lb systems from Draw-Tite (now Reese) over the years. For example, the current 10K Strait-Line Weight Distribution System # RP66087 uses the Replacement Round Spring Bar # RP58114. If this is not exactly what you have, feel free to reach out to me with a model number, or even...

  • Replacement Head and Spring Bar Recommendation for Older Reese Strait Line System
I'd highly recommend replacing the spring bars as well as the weight distribution head. The bars are under a tremendous amount of strain, and when they're worn, their weight bearing capabilities could be negatively affected. Reese no longer makes a 1000 lb capacity round bar. You'll want to go with either the # 58338 1200 lb bar or the # RP58114 for 800 lb bars, depending on your fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight. The bars are sold individually. For a weight distribution head,...

  • Are There Replacement Spring Bars Available for the Reese RP65509 Weight Distribution System?
The replacement spring bars for the Reese # RP65509 are no longer available from the manufacturer, unfortunately. That being said, if one of the original bars broke, you may need one that has a little more capacity, which we do carry. The Reese Replacement Round Bar # RP58114 is rated from 400 pounds at the minimum up to 800 pounds at the maximum. The bars for your # RP65509 are rated from 200 pounds to 600 pounds. So it isn't too much higher. However, you should double check your loaded...

  • Replacement Lift Bar for Reese Weight Distribution System
When you say lift bar, I am unsure if you are asking for a the handle for lift brackets or if you are referring to the spring bars. For the handle for lift brackets, you will want # RP58162. This provides leverage to ease lifting a positioning of the snap-up chain brackets. If you need spring bars, you could use # RP58114 for tongue weights up to 800 pounds. For trunnion bars like # RP22225 there are also different capacities. I've linked the page to all these options to assist,...

  • Replacement Spring Bars for a Pro Series RB2 Weight Distribution System
For the Pro Series RB2 system and its head, # 58333, there are different spring bars you could use. You need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is the tongue weight of the trailer when loaded and ready to tow plus the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the vehicle. For a 3500 pound trailer and a tongue weight of 10 to 15 percent you are looking at 350 to 525 pounds. You can use Item # RP58114 for 1 round bar with the cam end. These are rated for a tongue...

  • Recommended Replacement Spring Bar for Draw-Tite Dual Cam Weight Distribution System
It sounds like you may have an older Draw-Tite weight distribution (WD) system. According to my technical contact at Draw-Tite if your spring bar has a spring and clip at the head end then you'll instead use Pro Series spring bar # PS58441, which is a set of two. If you like you can send me a photo of your existing spring bar and head unit (and provide a part number if available) and I can check again with my technical contact to verify the correct spring bar.

You can use a Reese Strait-Line weight distribution system with a vehicle that has air bag helper springs. Also, you can back up the trailer when using the Strait-Line system though with extreme turns (like jackknifing) you will want to remove the spring bars. I spoke with my contact at Reese regarding your Weight Distribution System # RP67509. She stated that there should be a capacity listed with a sticker, located near the end of the spring bar. If the label/sticker is not present, then there should be a part number stamped into the bar itself. If you can provide me with this part number, I can then confirm its weight capacity for you. First, the tongue weight of the trailer at 207 pounds is much to low for the 600 to 1,200 pound system, # 49570, that you have referenced. Having a system that is rated too high for your trailer will be ineffective. You can replace the spring bars with 2 of the # 58336 spring bars. These bars are rated for 200 to 600 pounds. I may have an option for you, but there is not a 1000lb spring bar like yours made. All of the 1000lb ones were discontinued back in 2019. The only replacement spring bar still available that will fit your weight distirbution hitch head is the Reese # RP58114 which works with tongue weights between 400-800lbs so it will be a bit lighter than your current spring bars. I recommend measuring your tongue weight using either the etrailer tongue weight scale # e99044, or one of the methods...

If you have a Draw Tite hitch part # 75579 which is a Class III 2 inch hitch you are good to use a weight distribution system as it is rated for that. The thing about weight distribution systems is that they need to be properly rated for the trailer they are going to be used on. If your system is rated for up to 1,000 lbs tongue weight it's going to be rated too high. This would mean you'd have a ride quality that is very rough. So you'll need a lower capacity setup.
