Replacement Weight Distribution for 2007 Forest River BWCKT27G Cherokee Travel Trailer
Question:
I have a 2007 Forest River BWCKT27G Cherokee Travel Trailer with a Reese Hitch System. The Head has gone bad and it appears your company has a replacement for it - Part# RP 58112. One of the Reese Round Spring Bars looks worn so I am going to replace both Bars. However my current Reese Bar is rated 1000 lb TW and the one you carry RP 58114 is rated for 800 lbs TW. The camper empty weight is 5,280 lb and gross is 7,720 lb. I estimated 12 of empty weight and came up with a TW of 630 +- lb. Question is: will I be OK using the RP 58114 Spring Bar that is rated 800 lb TW? The catalog Photo for the 1200 lb Bar looks different on the end which would have the chain that hooks onto the the trailer frame neck. In short from the photo it looks like a different design from the recommended 800 lb Bar - will it work? OR Is there one that will work that is rated closer to the old Bar weight of 1000 lb?

If you have a worn out spring bar and weight distribution head most likely it's time for an all new system since by the time you replace the individual components you'll be near the price for an all new system and you won't have other components potentially on the verge of wearing at.
For a new system the part # RP67509 would be your best option.
