Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Lippert Components Venture Follow Leg repair kit for your fifth wheel RV landing gear. This is going to provide several different components here to fix many of the potential troubles that you could have with your power landing gear, so that you can get back to camping. This kit is produced by Lippert Components. If you're not familiar with that name, they do provide most of the power landing gear that comes standard on your fifth wheel RVs produced today. Almost all of your fifth wheel RVs are going to have a Lippert Components Power Landing Gear on them.
If you run into any problems, this is the kit from Lippert to help you with that.This is going to include a 4" long, 1/2" diameter follow drive shaft. It's also going to include two drive shaft bushings an E-Clip, a 13/16" long by 7/32" diameter drive pin, and a 1 1/8" long by 7/32" diameter spiral pin, as well as a 12T bevel gear. It's got 12 teeth on it. This is a 1 3/8" in diameter. We also have a 16T, so it's got 16 teeth on there, bevel gear.
This is going to be 1 3/4" in diameter. Then we also have a shim washer, which is 15/16" in outer diameter, and then 1/2" in inner diameter.You're probably never going to need all of these components, but if you even need one of them, it will be nice to have the direct replacement from Lippert. But then you also have some of these other components around. Most likely you're going to be using one of these bevel gears. Your original has stripped, you're needing a replacement so that your gears will function correctly, but it will be nice to have some of these other components as well.

I dont know. I'm not rating because it's a product rating, not service. When i ordered, i paid extra because it said wednesday delivery. I DIDN'T GET TRACKING UNTIL THURS. I paid extra because i needed by thurs. Wasn't delivered until fri. I had to order from another source, so now i have two. I'm pretty sure i'm done with etrailer!

Installed the kit in the follow leg on my 2008 Montana 5th Wheel Trailer after one of the original pins broke and locked the gears. Installation was easy and straightforward. It's been a year since installation and have had no issues.
Perfect fit and was very easy to install. Jack is working like new again.
super service 3 day shipping was next day as i sat down for dinner. Never knew slc to cedar city utah. XX dollar part XX dollar shipping but right part perfect time for the brown truck to pull up. Tore the landing gear out put in new gears grease works great will be ordering a motor for the rear when i get to colorado in may. Thank you etrailer.

Have yet to install, hence the less excellent rating. However, the parts do feel quite solid. I ordered both the lead leg kit and follow leg kit just to get them both done and over with (its a 2004 model year). This package looks like someone mightve damaged the bag ans just plastic wrapped it back up.
Arrived in a timely manner. Easy to install. Took longer to remove and replace the leg than it took to put in the new repair kit.
All the pieces were an exact match.
Was wrong items just have had time to re order asked for the longer shaft but got short shaft.

Exact replacement, very pleased. Also purchased similar repair kit for Lead Leg two years prior and still pleased. That's why I purchased second kit for Lag leg.

Worked great, but both times I've purchased this $30 kit, I've found I really only needed the 0.15 cent washer in them. It gets warped and bent if you go too far with the landing gear. That's what breaks.

I'm sure that these are great if they fit your landing gear leg. These did not fit mine. They are nearly identical to the ones I have. The only difference is mine have a 5/8 diameter hole through the 16 tooth gear. This set had a 1/2" diameter through hole. The 12 tooth gear that I have has a groove around the outside diameter to accept a wire like snap ring to cover the pin and hold inplace. I cannot find the ones I have. My bad though. When I ordered them it was because I didn't know what manufacturer or part number that I had. The components aren't marked

Bought this kit for back up, in case of similar trouble with a lift leg in the future. Left and right kits are interchangeable, with the exception of the rod that inserts into the leg. However, it is the gears that would be worn/broken, or the pins, so the old rod can easily be reused without concern. Quality components.
old landing gear gears where worn out, replaced with this new set and worked perfect. will buy from etrailer again.

This kit is every bit as good as the Stromberg-Carlson, but a lot less pricey. If you need the whole thing or, usually, only a couple parts this is the one to buy.
Fit and function great, easy install, had to follow with a gear box due to wear.
According to Lippert's website, the kit comes with a shim washer and a thrust washer; one is silver color and the other is black: I got the silver washer but not the black. The sealed package was unbroken. I called Jena D. who will be in contact with Lippert on Monday
