Rear Landing Gear Legs on 2012 Jayco Eagle M-351 RLTS Wont Retract/Extend
Question:
I have replaced my switch for the rear landing gear on my 2012 Jayco 351RLTS because when the switch was depressed either way it would not work/respond. It still does it, does that mean my motor is bad?

There could be a few reason as to why the landing gear legs on your 2012 Jayco Eagle M-351 RLTS are not working correctly. There could be a power shortage, faulty motor, or damaged internals. The easiest one to check is if the trailer's battery has a proper charge. Just because you are able to turn a few lights on doesn't mean it will have enough juice to power the landing gear legs so I would first check this. However, if you are able to operate the front two landing gear legs then this is likely not the issue.
The next step would be to check for damaged internals. In order to do this you are going to want to disconnect the intermediate shaft and try turning each jack leg using the manual override. If you hear any sort of popping or grinding noise then olds are you have some damage and you would need to pop off the end cap and take a look inside for any broken pieces. We do have repair kits available. Depending on the components that are damaged you can use part # LC146059 for the lead leg and part # LC146060 for the follow leg.
If the legs are able to operate smoothly with the manual override you are then going to want to check for power on the motor with a multimeter. If no power is present then odds are you have a wiring issue but if power is reaching the motor then odds are it is bad and will need to be replaced with part # LG-142178 (5,500 lbs) or part # LG-196308 (6,500 lbs).
