Bunk Boards

These carpeted bunk boards provide hull support for your boat during transport and storage. Each 6-foot-long board is wrapped in weather-resistant, marine-grade black carpet. You can run the bunk boards front to back for traditionally shaped hulls or side to side for flat-bottom boats, kayaks and inflatables.

To attach the bunk boards to the front and rear crossmembers of your trailer frame, use existing brackets or a four-pack of swivel mounting brackets (CE10000G-4, CE10001G-4 or C10002G-4 - sold separately). These brackets allow you to install the bunk boards at different heights. In addition, they enable the bunk boards to tilt to accommodate and support boat hulls of different sizes.

This is my second order of bunk boards from etrailer. Solid products at a better price than I could find elsewhere. Quick delivery, too. This time I replaced two 12 foot boards with four 6 footers, and used a bottom steel plate to lock them together. Working great. (There are still 2 mounting spots for each board.. so I don’t anticipate any issues). These aren’t made with pressure treated lumber, but that’s what I have to use because aluminum pontoons can be damaged by lumber treatment chemicals. Better to be safe than sorry.
So I’ve just resolved to myself that replacing my bunk boards will be routine maintenance going forward. Thus far I’m getting at least 4 to 6 years each, and several longer than that. And it’s nice to get reasonably priced replacements from etrailer. (Sure, I could install those fancy synthetic boards and they would last forever. But my trailer has 8 bunk boards, including the two 12 footers. It would be very, very, very expensive. Not worth it. I’ll stick with using etrailer.)

Easy to install, holding up fine after 1 year.

by:

product was excellent. However E-trailer failed to meet their expedited delivery promise (a week late) after I never received my original order. They were very unresponsive when I contacted them on the issue. Poor customer service.

by:

First off, I want to say that the products that I ordered from etrailer.com were of high quality and were easy to install, and lets not forget about the fast shipping and my favorite - the personal touch added to the email communications where each one is signed by a human (rather than something generic).

My project itself entailed replacing the two (original) vertical mount 4' bunks on my boat trailer (see the attached pictures). These were set-up to hold a 15' sailboat. I recently purchased a 12' (plastic) jon boat, and I felt that the jon boat needed better support on the trailer so that it didn't warp or dent.

After doing a lot of research, I decided to go with two horizontal mount 6' bunks. They were pre-finished at a cost less than if I were to purchase the individual components (wood, glue, carpet, staples, etc.) and do the assembly work myself. Attaching the hardware and mounting them to the trailer was a snap - see the attached pictures for the finished setup.

by:

I can't think of one thing I could want that would be better besides the saleslady Lori coming and installing the glide slides for the 2 pairs and installing the bunks on the trailer. Items are as stated and the quality was better than I could have done it if I bought the wood, cut it and carpeted it. My local trailer place was 2 weeks out and Lori walked me through the shipping process to get the product faster than normal but cheaper than "Next Day". Great advice. I think I found my new trailer store for the next time I need something trailer.

by:

Good product. Boards appear straight and carpeting is well fit.

by:

Exactly what I wanted. Arrived quickly. Installed with no problem.
Replaced broken bunk board.

by:

Easy to find just what I needed...placed the order...was informed during the shipping process...and all parts arrived fast and in perfect condition!

by:

Packaging was on par, arrived when expected and overall a great replacement for my worn out bunks!

by:

Came on time. All parts were shipped. Exactly what I needed . Each time I’ve ordered from etrailer, it’s has been the best pricing and delivered in time

by:

Great product, super fast delivery!!!

by:

Made well. Installed but have not launched the boat yet to see how it slides on them. I will see how long they hold up.

by:

Great customer service, prompt and on-time delivery. Very satisfied.

by:

I bought PWC trailer bunks last year. Shipping and packing was very good and installation went well. I can't really comment on quality because bunks usually are used for years but these seemed no different from my old ones that were somewhat worn so I don't see having any quality issues in the future with these.

Good

Needed replacement bunks for our small trailer. The 6' 2x4" CE Smith CE27840 bunks from etrailer are priced right, are good quality and did the job. They also arrived well packed in just a few days. Good job etrailer!

Great

by:

The products are very good! But they forgot to send me a part of my order( I needed to call to request the missing part ) when the missed part arrive I checked and it is open no plastic cover ( nothing cover to protect the part ).

by:

I need to repair my small boat trailer. The bunk boards were straight with a good covering as shown in picture. No complaints

by:

Bought these for simplicity even though in my opinion they are overpriced for what they are. A pressure treated 2x4 and some exterior carpet or old fire hose (likely for free from fire station) will get it done cheaper. My complaint about these is etrailer's recommended brackets, which BARELY fit onto thexe 2x4 bunks. The mounting holes are very close to the outside edge of the bunks, and you are mounting them with very large lag screws (not included with these or the brackets).

by:

Look great, priced good and arrived very quick!

by:

Makes replacement of bunks so easy

by:

As described, arrived well protected. I guess I was hoping these would be glued in place as well. I know that's not in the description. I've seen new PWC trailers where the carpet is glued down and it looked really nice. The carpet on these is fluffy and soft, and a good upgrade from the outdoor carpet I had covering mine. You'll want to drill holes for the lag screws that go into the brackets that hold these to the trailer. If you want a 1" deep hole, wrap electrical tape 1" from the tip of your drill bit and you'll stop at 1" each hole.

by:

Always on time an exactly what you order keep up the great work, etrailer for all you trailer needs

  • Recommended Roller Bunks for Boat Trailer
I highly recommend upgrading to roller bunks to make life easier on yourself, and these bunks are not going to do any damage to your boat, you only need to make sure the bunks are properly rated. The roller bunks will have to have a capacity that is more than that of your boat and they will also need to be the correct length so that they can be placed over your current bunks. The Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunk - 5' Long Sections # DL21741 are 5 feet and have a 3,000 lb...

  • Roller Bunks for a 20 Foot, 6,000 Pound Boat
I recommend using 5 foot long sections of roller bunks # DL21741. Each set is rated at 3,000 pounds so you would have to double up the rollers on each side to have a combined 6,000 pound capacity (assuming each set is holding an equal amount of weight). These are the highest capacity roller bunks we have so if doubling them up is not an option you might want to look at carpeted bunks such as # CE27840.

  • How To Replace 18 Foot Long Bunk Boards On a Pontoon Boat Trailer
I think the best option for your pontoon boat trailer would be to break the 18' long bunk boards down into three sections which then leaves 6' for each section. The shorter each board is, the more support you will have to a degree which is why I recommend this route. If one of them breaks you will only need to replace a small section as well. The CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers part # CE27840 is what I recommend because they are made of treated wood and have the carpet already...

  • Can Treated Lumber Be Used for Bunk Boards
Pressure treated lumber can be used for bunk boards along with bunk carpet like the # CE11349. However, it is possible that some corrosion may occur from the chemicals in the lumber over time. The CE Smith bunk boards like # CE27840 are made from untreated southern yellow pine. The carpet keeps them protected and, since they are untreated, corrosion won't be a concern.

  • Availability of 7 Feet Long 2 x 4 Carpeted Bunk Boards for a Boat Trailer
The longest carpeted bunk boards we currently offer is 6 feet in length. It's the CE Smith part # CE27840 and each 6-foot long 2x4 is covered in marine grade carpet. You can easily construct some bunks yourself. Go to your local lumberyard and get some yellow pine 2x4x10 boards. You can then purchase some of the marine-grade carpet we offer, like part # CE11372. You'll need one roll per bunk, which means you'll have some scrap left over, which you can utilize as needed for other projects....

  • How to Covert my Roller Bunks to Wooden Bunks on my Boat Trailer
This is a very easy process! If you already have rollers simply measure them and choose bunks similar to CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers part # CE27840 that most closely match. They will then attach to the same attachment point that the rollers used typically a bracket either welded or bolted to the trailer. I spoke with my contact at CE Smith and the wood in the Carpeted Bunk Boards # CE27840 is a non-treated wood. The carpet though is marine grade carpeting. Typically bunk carpet will last a few years, but that really depends on how often its used. If you do this you will need to wait till the trailer is in the water before you disconnect it from the trailer. The wax...
