Recommended Roller Bunks for Boat Trailer

Question:

Sirs, hope u can help me choose! bunks- carpet or roller. I have a 20 foot RIB with Honda 90HP, now on carpeted Bunks. It gets very difficult to load and unload on remote lakes where only ramps are natural and not always good ones. Thinking about roll up my trailer, but dont know how will affect the Fiberglass hull. How many rolls would u recomend, wich material? Thanks!

I highly recommend upgrading to roller bunks to make life easier on yourself, and these bunks are not going to do any damage to your boat, you only need to make sure the bunks are properly rated.

The roller bunks will have to have a capacity that is more than that of your boat and they will also need to be the correct length so that they can be placed over your current bunks. The Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunk - 5' Long Sections # DL21741 are 5 feet and have a 3,000 lb capacity; there are also sections that are 4 feet long which have a 2,500 lb capacity, the Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunk # DL21740.

You can attach these rollers to vertically or horizontally positioned bunk boards or use Roller Bunk Bracket # DL21742.

I have added a link showing how the roller bunks and brackets install as well as links to video reviews of the bunks for you to check out.
