Well-made trailer hitch. Have been looking for one for a year for my son-in-law's truck. Would also highly recommend buying any product from etrailer. Prompt service every time.

Good heavy Hitch

by:

Just your basic ball mount, the product is just like most 2” Hitch ball mounts, the service wasn’t very good though.
Ordered on June 15th (product was in stock) took them 6 days to send it out, took another 6 days in shipping and got all the way to my post office two days before leaving on vacation (I needed it for the vacation) and the post office said “box was empty and they notified seller” etrailer sent a new one (got here a week after my vacation) in a damaged box (packaging is horrible, little bit of paper in a box with a 5 lbs ball mount) almost lost this one too.
I don’t believe I’ll be using etrailer in the future (had issues before)

by:

My order was missing installation parts, but the etrailer team were quick to correct the issue.

Even without a lift, I was able to install the receiver and brake light cable quickly, thanks to their extensive video libray.

by:

I bought this on my knowledgeable brother's advice - he gave me the exact order number and link to buy from etrailer! I had it installed locally, without complications. I use my truck mostly to haul my horse or my friend's two donkeys in my 14-foot stock trailer. I have no complaints, the hitch does what it's supposed to do.

by:

The hitch is exactly as described on etrailer. The drop measured exactly 9-1/4" as I wanted it to be. Curt rounds this measurement up or down to a whole number, 10" in this case. That is way off when you want your trailer and truck towing level are looking for a particular drop. Thankfully etrailer measures these themselves and show you where they are measuring from so you know what hitch to ask for.

by:

The team at etrailer relayed helped find the right solution. Using this ball mount fixed the height issue I had with my SUV not lining up with the trailer. Very grateful for their help.

by:

Hitch ball and mounts all ready to the test!!!
Great
Products!!
Five Star e-trailer team, very informative, fast and accurate shipping, perfect packaging and "GREAT" customer service"

by:

Looks & works great. Easy to install. Make sure you order or have a locking pin and ball to go with it.

by:

Does the job, however there's a lot of play when hitch mount is inserted into the hitch and when towing with an empty trailer. Very loud. Have to buy a silencer that goes around and secures the product.

by:

I bought my first ball mount way back when I was broke (bought the cheapest one in the big box store). With my new trailer I needed 14k capacity instead of 10k so I double checked the mount before buying a heavier duty ball...it was rated for only 5k!! Folks, check those mounts to make sure they're rated for the job!! This one is a honker btw, love it. Side by side with old it's like brick vs bubble gum, embarrassing I haven't upgraded sooner. And thanks for the guidance.

by:

This is a great all-purpose hitch. I've used it to mount a heavy-duty bike rack and a steel T-rack to carry a canoe as well as lumber. Most recently I hauled 5 x 8 cargo trailers full of plants, then furniture for a 600-mile move. It was simple to use, problem free, very strong and sturdy. Now that I live on some acreage, I see a trailer in my future, so this will get a lot more use. I drive a 2013 Tacoma, so this is a good size hitch at a good price with sufficient capacity for my needs. I do use a key lock for the hitch as well.

  • Which Ball Mount is Best for a 2009 Nissan Murano with a 2 Inch Draw-Tite Hitch
The smallest drop we have is a 2 inch drop like part # C45010. Letting the trailer ride slightly nose down is acceptable. Nose up or heavily nose down can pose problems. In this case, a 2 inch drop would be the best fit.

  • How to Determine the Correct Ball Mount to Tow a Trailer with a 2004 Ford Escape
You would not necessarily need a ball mount with a rise. It all depends on what is needed to make the trailer and vehicle as level as possible when the trailer is connected to the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75118. The recommended ball mount is # C45010. It has a 3/4-inch rise and 2-inch drop. There are 2 measurements you will need to take in order to determine the correct ball mount and rise or drop that will be needed. First, park your 2004 Ford Escape on level ground. Then you would...

  • Ball Mount for 1997 Grand Cherokee
The ball mount needed will depend on the size of the receiver opening in your hitch, 1-1/4 or 2 inch. The class II ballmount, part # 3592 that you looked at will fit your vehicle if it has the the 1-1/4 inch receiver. If you have the 2 inch receiver, part # C45010 would be a great choice.

  • Why are Some Ball Mounts Longer Than Others?
The reason some ball mounts have different lengths is simply to allow for more clearance between the tow vehicle and trailer. Some people like a longer ball mount if, for example, they want to be able to open the tailgate of their truck when the trailer is attached. Something like the Curt # C45270, which is 13" long may allow that while Curt # C45010, which is 8-1/4" long, may not. I've added a link to each of our ball mounts for you to take a look at.

  • Selecting a Ball Mount and Ball for a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche
One of the most important things to do when towing is to get the trailer and vehicle level. Selecting the appropriate ball mount will allow you to keep the trailer level. We have a page that shows how to find what drop or rise ballmount is needed to keep the trailer level, I have included a link to it. Basically you will measure the height of your hitch and the height of the coupler on the trailer. If the trailer is higher, then you get a ball mount that rises however many inches. The opposite...

  • Can a Trailer Become Unhitched While Driving
When towing a trailer there are several mechanical connection points: where the ball mount such as # C45010 meets the hitch receiver and locks with a padlock like # C23519; and where the trailer coupler joins the hitch ball. Some trailers may require safety chains as a safety measure or if the trailer has brakes there will be a breakaway kit on the trailer to engage the trailer brakes automatically in the event of the trailer becoming uncoupled from the hitch ball. An example of a breakaway...

  • Availability of Ball Mount with 3/4 Inch Drop
The least amount of drop available in a fixed ball mount for a 2 inch receiver would be two inches, like part # C45010 with its 7500 lb capacity. Ideally, you want the ball height of the trailer to equal the coupler height of the trailer so everything's pulled perfectly level, but this isn't always possible. As long as you're within two inches of level, everything will be fine. An adjustable ball mount like # C45900 would allow you to get a 1-1/4 inch drop, which is plenty close enough.

  • Choosing Correct Ball Mount for 2014 Mercedes Benz GLK 250 BlueTec w/ Factory Hitch
I would imagine that Mercedes puts a Class III hitch on that vehicle as the factory option. You can confirm that by measuring the INSIDE dimension of the receiver opening. If it measures 2 by 2 inches, it's a Class III. If it's 1-1/4 by 1-1/4 inches, its a Class I or II. The sticker on the hitch should tell you which. Both the ball mounts you mentioned could be used in a Class I or II hitch, as long as the capacity of the hitch or the ball mount isn't exceeded. If you have the Class III...

  • Why Does Ball Mount BH20 Have a Solid Shank While Ball Mount 2923 is Hollow
When the shank of a ball mount or hitch-mount accessory - say a bike rack for example - is solid rather than hollow this typically means it will be stronger. It also means it will be heavier. The Brophy Ball Mount # BH20 has a solid steel shank which is part of why it has a very substantial 10,000-lb weight rating. The roughly similar Curt ball mount # C45010 offers a 7500-lb weight rating; Even though it is not a solid shank, it does have a very thick platform for our ball to attach. Hollow...

  • Calculating Rise/Drop Ball Mount to Use with Curt Rockerball Hitch Ball
So the Curt Rockerballs like the # C94CR sit about 1-1/2 inches taller than standard balls. And most rise/drop calculations are measured at the base of the ball and not the top so that changes the 16 inch height to be right around 14 inches for how our ball mounts are organized/measured. So then subtract the 1-1/2 inches of the Rockerball puts the height instead at 11-1/2 inches which is right at the 11 inches of your hitch opening. So that would mean you'd want a rise of right at 1/2 inch...
