Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Have had no problems each trip is about 200miles and I have made numerous trips

by:

was an interesting job. had to buy a bearing puller to get of the old race then this went on and has been fine now for a year now. I bought both sides but only did the wobbly wheel as I don't like to fix what isn't broken yet.

by:

Finally got them in today (Postal Service delayed them in Memphis) and they are just as I ordered. Changed them out with the old hubs with no problem except the dust cover was just barely too big for my axle. No problem I just used by old dust covers.

by:

I’m very upset. I have ordered a lot of stuff from you, but this order really was bad. First off. It’s missing two Lugnuts. They gave me two that were too big as well. Also, dust covers do not fit. The solid ones do at least I think the ones with the rubber metal do not fit. I know they are hard to get in, and I am very experienced with putting them in and I could not get them to go in. Hopefully I haven’t tried them but the solid dust covers will work. If not, I will have to buy some bearing buddies. I don’t know if I will be using you again cheap Chinese stuff you’re selling

I am sorry that it came with missing hardware and that the grease caps are tough to tap into place. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

by:

Ordering was easy. I had some questions so I called. Tammie was very helpful and took my order. Hubs arrived in 2 days. Installed easily and works perfectly. etrailer is a great company to do business with.

by:

Etrailer tech (George J) was great helping me pick this out for my trailer

by:

They look good, will be installing and finishing a total light job, complete switch to electric brakes, safety trigger, battery by the end of next week. Thank-you etrailer!

by:

Everything has worked as should

by:

I put the new hub assembly on for my Lil' Hobo retro camper trailer. The hub assembly doesn't come with a washer and nut for the spindle, so you need to save your old ones or buy these separate if you don't have them. I put it on with new tires and wheels, upgrading from a four bolt to five bolt pattern.

by:

The right parts at the right price !

by:

Good price, right fit for my trailer per my research on your website. Short wait time on delivery. If product lasts, very pleased with overall experience with your company. Thank you.

by:

Parts fit and worked as like they should. Fast shipping.

by:

Converted my trailer to 5x4.5 so I could use standard rims. Everything worked great. I ordered 2 drums and 2 hubs. Everything included.

by:

Just a quick note to say thank you to eTrailer for not only the quality of parts received but also to Melissa for the dedicated service and attention that was given to me when placing my order.

THANK YOU MELISSA for all of your help!
Looking forward to my next purchase!

by:

Fast delivery
...the hub and bearing
set should include cotter pin had to replace them and for an additional couple of cent it far to Loews.
Thanks anyway

by:

Not much to see, but here are pics of the installed new hub and Bearing Buddy.

by:

My trailer originally had 5/ 4.75 hubs but decided to change to 5/4.5 hubs since my other trailer has the 5/4.5 hubs. Very happy with my purchase.

by:

Perfect fit. I can always count on Etrailer for all my trailer needs

by:

Got pre packed hubs for boat trailer they fit perfect just as described!! Fast shipping. Would recommend A plus

by:

The hub is nice fit perfect. The included dust caps however had to be beaten in. Hard.

by:

i told the person on the phone that both bearings were the same size and what was shipped was two different bearings. so i could not trailer my boat and missed out on the tournament. unexceptable

by:

Worked like a charm great product

by:

If you want a accurate review you may want to wait more than 2 hrs after delivery to request a review

by:

Product works great and was easy to install. I don't think it came with the castle nut pin, which might be problematic for some people who don't have hardware collections at their work space. It might help those who are unfamiliar with hub installation to get an install guide with the product. I could see someone over tightening the castle nut and ruining their new bearings.

Great! I checked them after about 250 miles of use and they were still tight and in great shape. They were exactly as described and perfect for my application.

Works great and fast shipping. Customer service is great too.

  • How to Find Idler Hub to Replace Hub/Rotor of Disc Brake System on Boat Trailer
If by standard boat trailer hubs you mean electric drum brakes, which are more and more commonly supplied on boat trailers as standard equipment, you will need to know the bearings used in the existing setup. A new hub/drum has to use the same bearings in order to properly fit on the spindles. Electric drum brakes are popular as replacements since they often cost less than hydraulic drums and since they are much easier to install and maintain. If you want to install hydraulic drum brakes...

Based on my research the hub 46210 is an idler hub for a 3500-lb axle. Since I do not know which hub bolt pattern you need I have linked our main page that displays all hubs for 3500-lb axles. You need to match up your wheel bolt pattern (please refer to the linked article for help and then click on the appropriate filter on the hub page), choose the hub type (idler or with a brake drum) and then confirm that your existing hub uses the same inner and outer bearings as the replacement....

Yes! For the non-braked idler hub version of the # AKHD-545-35-K, the part you need is the # AKIHUB-545-35-K. This hub is the exact same 5 on 4-1/2 lug pattern and has the same 3,500 pound capacity. It also includes the exact same size bearings, grease seals, and races as the # AKHD-545-35-K. • How to Measure a Spindle to Identify it
The easiest way to determine what spindle your trailer has is to use a dial or digital caliper like the part # PTW80157 to measure it where the bearings and grease seal ride. If where the inner bearing rides measures 1.378 inches, outer bearing 1.063 inches, and then the seal 1.719 inches the hub part # AKIHUB-545-35-K that you referenced will fit. This is the number 84 spindle.

It does look like the 2002 Coleman Niagara uses the standard 3,500 lb axle bearings like the ones in the # BK2-100. I recommend verifying this information first by either identifying the axle and the parts it uses using the axle tags or finding the part numbers on/measuring your existing bearings.
