Standard electric brake assemblies require manual adjustment of the brake shoes over time to provide longer-lasting and more efficient braking performance. With self-adjusting brakes, the brake shoes are always properly aligned, so there's no need to manually adjust the brakes after the initial adjustment. As a result, you get optimum performance without having to take the time to continually perform this type of maintenance.
This brake assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This brake assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This brake has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.
Each shoe on this brake assembly is lined with automotive-grade friction material for improved stopping performance and longevity. The friction material is fully bonded onto the surface of the brake shoe. This lining is custom-molded for a perfect fit. The edges are tapered to ensure long-lasting performance. This taper, along with the circular grinding that the lining undergoes, helps to prevent cracking and crumbling. This durability helps to prevent mechanical lockup, which can occur when brake shoes are excessively worn or broken.
The friction material is also SAE-N certified, which means that it is an environmentally safe product that complies with California and Washington regulations regarding the composition of brake pads. As a result, this material not only provides high-performance braking that can endure the test of time, but it is also environmentally friendly and safe for use throughout the United States and Canada.

Fits 13" to 15" wheels.I ordered an electric trailer brake assembly to replace a damaged one on my 14 foot cargo trailer. The fit was perfect and the one I ordered was self-adjusting.
Perfect fit. A no hassle solution to replacing your brakes. It all comes as one component - minus the mounting hardware. I would have given it 5 stars if it included an absolutely needed part: the four 7/16 x 20 threaded nuts. It does tell you that it’s not included. I figured I could get them locally but couldn’t. Local stores have threads all around the 20, but not the 20. I was wrong so I had to put off installing until I could come back and order them from etrailer. Why not just add them to the brake assembly and raise the price of the assembly by $[XX]? If not for that, I certainly would give it a 5-star rating.

Appear to be quality metal; matched up to my Dexter axles and hubs, no issues.
Arrived a couple days after the break kits and hubs; caused a small delay but no issue for me since did not need the trailer currently.
Bought a Hayes 3500 lbs axle that sat in the dirt for years and the pads nearly fused to the hubs. Well worth the money for piece of mind. Only suggestion is to pick up the 7/16-20 bolts with your order (eTrailer, why not just add it to the kit?)

Installed a complete set of 4 of the E trailer self adjusting brakes on my 2002 Doolittle trailer with Dexter 3500 axles....the pre assembled units went on effortlessly, and worked perfect.....would highly recommend them....thanks

I am so glad I Purchased the entire brake assembly instead of individual parts. This brake assembly is better than the original since it is self adjusting and I’ll never have to adjust my brakes again. It was a snap to install thanks to etrailer.com video instructions. I highly recommend this product

So far so good. I ordered a bunch of stuff from several sites th night I got my brake parts. Etrailer was the fastest order forfillment and the first on my porch by far. Everything fit like it was supposed to and this far seems to be working well. Can’t ask for more then that. If they sold a 11/16 ratchet wrench with these things would have gone lots faster.

Brakes and new wheel bearings have worked out great!
We use these brakes on a heavy loaded Interstate 7,000 lb.trailer, 16 foot, high top, walk in cargo trailer that has dual axles. The route is between southern Missouri, over the Rocky Mountains passes and over the Cascade Mountain Passes into the Pacifice northwest and back to Missouri...over 5,000 miles round trip. Towed by Dodge Dakota pickup truck, I REQUIRE brakes that are reliable, self adjusting, and function together in a consistent manner. These brakes replaced manual adjustment brakes of which enroute wear required multiple manual adjustments along the side of the road to safely cross high mountain passes. The difference between manual and self adjusting brakes and the consistent/straight stoping power of the self adjusting brakes is impossible to overstate. These self adjusting brakes were very easy to install, a mere bolt on job. I literally trust our lives to these brakes....and recommend them with great confidence with tens of thousands of miles of use.

Fits perfect - thanks for all the help with choosing the correct part. I was surprised there wasn't nuts and washers for the bolts. But am happy with the results.
They will need bearings regreased. They were not shipped with anywhere near enough grease to make them last around the block. Which means you’ll have to carefully remove the rear seal or buy new ones to grease the inside bearing. And all the hub center caps would not fit and had to roll the edge with pliers a little to get them to tap into the hub.

No problems after 5,000miles
fast delivery, easy to install, appear to be of very good quality. overall very satisfied.
Product is fine but packaging was a joke. A very large box was used and only a small amount of kraft paper was used as cushioning. Six to eight of the brake assemblies could have been put in this box. Fortunately there was no damage to my assemblies. I thought that surely this would have been corrected given the number of people that have complained about it. I guess the complaints are not getting to the correct person with the authority to make a change.
Good product for the money. Would recommend ordering from E-trailer.
Ordered brakes for my trailer shipping was fast installation was a breeze took about 30 minutes per wheel after watching the video this is the second time I have bought from E Trailer and will continue to buy

Love the parts and price will buy from etrailer again
Great product would never shop anywhere else. I never need to worry about this product failing. We went over the Rockies twice with our open car hauler.
What a great product and good price to boot. Received the brake assemblies in only 3 days. I was ready to install when shipment arrived. It was threatening rain so in my haste I forgot to take pictures. Complete install didn't take much more than an hour.
