Can Boat Trailer with 3,750 lb Capacity have Brakes Added to It

Question:

Id like to know if it is common to add electric brakes to a boat trailer? I have a boat and trailer with a label by autoFlex Knott on the single axle rated for 3750lbs which I have attached to the images. Ive also attached a picture of my wheel bolt pattern. The brake flange is also a 4bolt pattern. What exactly would I need from your site to install this? Thank you so much

At one point people steered away from electric brakes on boat trailers but now it's actually really common which seems odd since you'd think electric brakes dipped in a lake would be a big problem but people do it all the time without issue and the brakes work really well.

From the pictures you submitted we can determine what you'd need to install electric brakes on your trailer. For brake assemblies you would then need the part # AKEBRK-35L-SA for the left hand side and then # AKEBRK-35R-SA for the right hand side. These are self-adjusting to which means you won't ever have to worry about adjusting them.

Then for a hub you'd just need the # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K and you'd be set. You will need to use 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by foot) to do all of the wiring and you'll have brakes installed. If you are in need of an easy to install brake controller as well the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 is a really great option! I attached a review video for more info on this as well.
