Video Transcript for Redline Trailer Brakes BRKH10BS Review

Today we're going to take a look at the mounting hardware for 10 inch single brake assembly. Now this hardware will allow you to install one trailer brake assembly to the four bolt brake mounting flange on your trailer axle. This hardware's designed to fit the 10 inch brake assembly that already has the pre installed mounting bolts on it. It will work with electric or hydraulic brakes. It includes everything shown here. The four 7/16 by 20 nuts with 11/16 head size.

Just to show you that I pulled a socket that's 11/16, you can see it fits perfectly on the head size. Then the four lock washers, these would install onto to bolts that are already on your brake assembly. But that should do it for the review on the mounting hardware for 10 inch single brake assembly.

Last pices to parts for running gear for new hay wagon thanks e trailer

by:

perfect fit

by:

It’s a shame that you have to buy the actual mounting hardware separately from the hardware these are designed to be used with (the brake assembly.

by:

great addition to the brake assembly. all parts fit perfectly and was very reasonable to purchase. great business to use and i will again. thank you for being a great resource.

by:

fast delivery, easy to install, appear to be of very good quality. overall very satisfied.

by:

It's nuts and lock washers.

by:

Sad that I had to buy this seperate from the brake assembly that I bought.

by:

Great Service....Ordered on a Sunday evening and had the new brakes, drums and wheels, all back on, along with new seals and wheel bearings repacked by Thursday Afternoon. I have not adjusted the brakes yet because the weather turned bad today. With good weather, I will take the 5th Wheel for a test drive to check everything out. I will update this review at that time.

Note: During the process, I found that I had a wiring problem(low voltage at the brake wires) which I fixed.
Suggestion: Since you have to cut the wires to the Electromaget, just test the voltage at each wheel to insure that all is well.

by:

Frankly, I think the mounting kit should have been included with the brake assembly...who would mount a new brale assembly using rusty old bolts? EAnyway, everything fit perfectly.

by:

putting on new brakes so i ordered 8 nuts. they sent 6 of one size and 2 of another.
their service is going downhill.

I apologize for the mistake. Customer Service will resolve this soon.

Fit as well as I expected them to. Could have bought cheaper ones, but their reputation speaks for itself. Why compromise? Best protection I could find, for my new bearings and seals.

by:

They installed easy enough. My one complaint would be Ship with a torque spec. That would make the job easier and more concise than just crush the washer.
Thanks

by:

Arrived on time (as usual with etrailer) and fit as expected. Nothing else to say since I always buy trailer parts from this vendor. Never had a quality issue with their products.

by:

Simply the most helpful staff. We are elderly and not internet savvy but it was so very easy to order and search our parts online and they shipped the same day with free shipping and keep us in touch with where our packages were.

by:

All hardware was accounted for.

by:

Def need these when old ones are rusted

  • Brake Installation Hardware and Torque Required for 10-Inch Drum Brakes
Electric drum brakes such as # AKEBRK-35L-SA will use nut/lock washer hardware kit # BRKH10BS and the nuts should be tightened to 45 to 50-ft-lbs. If you need a torque wrench we offer several such as # ALL644044 as well as Torque Adapter # PTM206 which fits any 1/2-inch ratchet.

  • Needing 3500 lb Hub/Drum With 5 on 5 Bolt Pattern
You're correct, a hub/drum with a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern wouldn't be compatible with your existing wheels. For a hub/drum for a 3500 lb axle with a 5 on 5 bolt pattern, I'd recommend the # AKHD-550-35-EZ-K. This hub/drum is compatible with the spindles typically found on a 3500 lb axle, which uses a L68149 inner and L44649 outer bearing and a 58846 grease seal. The hub includes the inner and outer bearings, inner and outer races, the grease seal, dust caps for a standard and E-Z...

  • Are Electric Trailer Brake Assemblies Specific to Drivers or Passenger Side of Trailer
The etrailer brand 10 inch trailer brake assemblies like # AKEBRK-35L-SA are side specific. For the left you'd use # AKEBRK-35L-SA and # AKEBRK-35R-SA for the left. How to tell the difference? Hold the brake assembly so the magnet is at the bottom. Then look at the back of the brake assembly. If the brake magnet wires exit the backing plate on the left, it's a left hand (driver's side) assembly. If they exit on the right, it's a right hand (passenger side) assembly. Many times the brake...

  • Availability of 10 Inch Diameter Brake Assembly for Hub/Drum with 6 on 5-1/2 Bolt Pattern
We do indeed have brake assemblies that would be compatible with a 3.5K axle using a 10 inch hub/drum with a 6 lug on 5-1/2 inch bolt circle. For a right hand assembly, I'd recommend self-adjusting brake assemblies # AKEBRK-35R-SA for the right side and # AKEBRK-35L-SA for a left hand. The assemblies are compatible with a standard 4 bolt mounting flange. Mounting hardware is sold separately as part # BRKH10BS. If you're needing brake drums as well, you'll need # AKHD-655-35-EZ-K which...

  • Parts Needed to Add Electric Brakes to a Dexter Torflex #9 Axle?
Most 7 inch hub drums aren't compatible with 14 inch wheels, but the Dexter # 8-257-5UC3-EZ is an exception because it will adequately support the wheel. This hub uses the L44649 inner and outer bearing which is compatible with the spindles on your Torflex # 9 axle beam. The bearings, races, grease seal, grease cap and lug nuts are included. The hub/drums are sold individually. You'll also need a left hand brake assembly, like # 23-47 and a right hand like # 23-48. The assemblies have...

  • Is Hub/Drum Included with 3500 lb AKEBRK-35L-SA Trailer Brake Assembly
The hub drums are sold separately. The # AKEBRK-35L-SA (left side) and # AKEBRK-35R-SA (right side) self-adjusting trailer brake assemblies are intended for a 3500 lb capacity axle. The # BRKH10BS mounting hardware is sold separately. Typically, a drum for a 3500 lb axle would have a 5 lug on 4-1/2 inch bolt circle and would use a L68149 inner and a L44649 outer wheel bearing, although the wheel bolt pattern could possibly be different. If your existing hubs have the 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern,...

The Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Right Hand - 3,500 lbs # AKEBRK-35R-SA and Left Hand # AKEBRK-35L-SA may be a fit for your 2016 Heartland Mallard M32 though you do need to ensure you have the correct weight capacity, drum size and brake mounting flange. However, since you referenced a part number for brakes that fit trailers for axles before 2009, you may be talking about a kit from Dexter for 4,400 lb axles. Since you have a 2016 trailer they would not fit,...
