Excellent hitch! Needed the extended length as our bumper isn't notched for towing. With a tongue weight of 1100#, there aren't many hitches that offer the extension with weight rating. This one fits perfect! Thanks

by:

This hitch is solid - literally! Super heavy duty.

by:

Very rugged ball mount and is longer than the typical length. Great option if you need a Class IV level mount with a little extra bumper clearance length.

This gets used weekly and its holding up great.

by:

I ordered all the wrong Parts but the salesperson was able to quickly get me on the right path with what I needed thanks a lot

by:

This is definitely a sturdy hitch. The quality of the product is undeniable and I'm looking forward to putting my first big load on it. The extra length is just what I needed to get my trailer winch back far enough to lower my truck's tailgate while hooked up.

Customer service has been outstanding. Product arrived neatly packaged 3 days earlier than it was supposed to and a follow up email asking if anything was wrong was sent not even a day after receiving delivery.

by:

The product was everything that was advertised. It fit perfect and was a perfect length. I needed 3 inches and this ball mount got me 4 inches. Perfect. Thanks P.S. The 2-5/16" ball was perfect too !!

by:

The ball mount, p/n 4284, fit perfectly on my 2007 Range Rover. It extends out from under the vehicle far enough to safely attach my utility trailer without damaging the rear of the Range Rover. I recommend this ball mount to anyone needing this application. Thanks for a great product.

WOW ... I WAS POSITIVELY AMAZED AT EVERY STAGE OF THE ORDER and/or DELIVERY CYCLE ... EVEN THE BOX THAT THIS "WEIGHTY" ORDER CAME IN HAD CUTOUT HANDHOLDS TO MAKE THE LIFTING and/or CARRYING PROCESS OF THE BOX FROM MY FRONT DOOR TO THE GARAGE EASIER.

I DEFINITELY PLAN ON ORDERING FROM eTRAILER AGAIN !!!

by:

Very solid hitch!

by:

Perfect fit for hitch I bought this for. Weld looks good. Dimensions are accurate.

by:

Quality seems good even though it’s made in China. Welds are perfect. I love these Zinc plated drawbars with the solid shank. In New England the cheap painted steel ones with tube shank rust out from the inside. Hopefully the plating holds up as long as the older US made ones we have.

  • Ball Mount For Curt Hitch C13264 on Toyota Tacoma
There isn't a specific ball mount required for the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13264 on your Toyota Tacoma. The correct one will depend on the rise or drop you need: - 1" Rise, 2" Drop: Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # 4284 - 3" Rise, 4" Drop: Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # 4285 Along with the ball mount you will also need a hitch lock or pin and clip to secure it to your hitch, and a hitch ball with the correct diameter shank. For that you can use the following: - Pin and Clip...

  • Selecting A Ball Mount When Trailer And Coupler Are Same Height
When towing, the trailer should always be as level as possible. A level trailer will put less strain on the connection between the trailer and hitch. It will also help the trailer stay in line behind the vehicle. I have attached a couple of helpful articles that you can check out that explains towing and how to measure to make certain you get the correct ball mount. After you have taken your measurements you can check out the attached link for the ball mounts we offer. Use the menu on...

  • Solution for Adding Tailgate Clearance While Ball Mount and Keeping Trailer Level
Getting your trailer as level as possible when it's hooked up to your Ford F-150 is definitely a goal worth working towards and I do have an option that may allow you to achieve this while still gaining the clearance you need for your tailgate. Using a ball mount that doesn't feature a sufficient drop will cause the trailer to ride nose high. If you have a dual axle trailer this will put more weight on the rear axle, leading to uneven tire wear and possibly causing damage if that rear...

The Rapid Hitch Adjustable Ball Mount, part # AM3410 measures 3-3/8 inches from the back of the ball assembly to the closest pin hole and 4-3/8 inches to the furthers hole on the shank. This has a maximum rise of 6-1/2 inches and a maximum drop of 5-1/2 inches and has a towing capacity of 8,000 when using the 2 inch ball and 10,000 when using the 2-5/16 inch ball. I have attached a product review video you can check out. We have a couple fixed ball mounts that may work for you. The first...

  • Selecting Proper Ball Mount for Towing Cargo Trailer Behind 2002 County Coach Motorhome
We offer ball mounts in various lengths to allow for plenty of clearance between the tow vehicle and hitched trailer. In your case you need a ball mount long enough to allow the hitch ball to clear your motorhome's rear bumper and so the Draw-Tite # 4284 that you referenced will work fine since it provides 12-inches of space between the hitch pin hole and the ball mounting hole. This ball mount provides either a 1-inch rise or a 2-inch drop in height depending on which way you install it. You...

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for a Truck and Trailer that Sit Perfectly Level
Since your hitch height is the exact same as your coupler height your best option would be to go with a ball mount with a 1 inch rise since that is the closest to a zero rise/drop ball mount we offer. The tongue weight of your trailer will cause the rear of your truck to sag slightly which will put your setup at very close to perfectly level. The ball mounts part numbers # 4280 and # 4284 both would work well for you. The # 4284 is just a longer version of the # 4280.

  • Dimensions of Draw-Tite Heavy Duty Ball Mount part # 4280
The platform that the ball mounts to is 3 inches wide by 7/8 inches thick. The shank that s into the hitch is 2X2 inches square. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the ball platform is 3-5/16 inches. If the Thule rack you have is designed to clamp around the ball mount and has a maximum clamp of 2-5/8x2-5/8 inches, it should fit around this ball mount, but you need to measure your hitch. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your hitch to the face...

I am not sure where you are coming up with the 4.88 inches for the Draw-Tite Ball Mount, # 4284. We have a photo on the product page showing the dimensions of the ball mount, which shows the distance from the ball mount hole to the weld for the ball platform which is 6-3/4 inches. I went out to the warehouse and measured the length of the ball mount platform and it measures 6-9/16 inches long overall and 3 inches wide. If these measurements do not help, or you were looking at a different...

  • Recommended 2 Inch Ball Mount With 1 Inch Rise
For a 2 inch ball mount that offers a 1 inch rise/2 inch drop and a 12K capacity, I'd recommend the Draw-Tite # 4284. For a 2-5/16 inch ball, use # 19286 which also has a 12K capacity. If you don't need that much capacity, go for the Curt # C45030 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball, use # 63847. This combination would have a 7500 lb maximum capacity. For either setup, you'd also need a # PC3 hitch in.

  • Trailer Hitch Extension Needed to Allow Tailgate to be Lowered with Trailer Attached to Vehicle
I would not recommend any type of extension with your towing setup. Extenders create more torque on the vehicle frame, hitch, drawbar, extender and hitch ball because of the extension, just like adding a pipe to the end of a breaker bar. This added torque reduces that weight capacity of all of the components in the system by 50 percent, so your vehicles 10 K capacity would be lowered to 5 K if a hitch extension is used. I would go with a long ball mount that is just long enough so you...

  • How to Figure Weight Capacity When Using a Hitch Extender or Extra Long Ball Mount
One thing to note when using a hitch extender like the etrailer, # e88YR, is that the tongue weight and towing capacity of your trailer hitch will be reduced by 50 percent due to the increased leverage that is placed on your trailer hitch from your trailer. In your situation, even with the towing capacities of your hitch capacities reduced by 50 percent, you are still limited to the 3,500 lbs gross trailer weight capacity and 350 lbs tongue weight capacity of the hitch extender.
