Stallion Camper Jacks - 288-01892-2

  • Pop Up Camper
  • Teardrop Camper
  • Travel Trailer
  • Stabilizer Jacks
  • Drop Down Jack
  • 0 - 1000 lbs
  • 2 Jacks
  • 22-1/4 Inch Lift
  • Stallion
  • Bolt-On
  • Weld-On
  • Steel

Heavy-duty jacks stabilize your lightweight cargo or camper trailer. Legs telescope to the ground when you release the lever. Jacks swing up for storage. With 7" of drop leg travel, these jacks have an extended height of 22-1/4".

Features:

  • Stabilizing jacks help keep your trailer or camper level and steady
    • Great for loading and unloading cargo or for camping
  • Folding design lets you flip jacks up for travel, down for use
  • Drop leg extends so you can adjust the height
    • Spring-loaded lever releases drop leg for use
    • Steel rod lets you easily fine-tune height adjustment
  • Large foot provides stability
  • Sturdy steel construction
  • Bolt-on or weld-on installation
    • Mounting hardware not included
  • Black color

Specs:

  • Bracket height:
    • Retracted 15-1/4"
    • Extended: 22-1/4"
  • Drop leg travel: 7"
  • Lift capacity: 650 lbs
    • Maximum load the jacks can lift
  • Support capacity: 1,000 lbs
    • Maximum vertical load the jacks can support
  • Quantity: 2 jacks

Note: These jacks are designed to stabilize a portion of your trailer's weight, not to support the full GVWR of your trailer. Do not use these jacks to lift your trailer or RV. Doing so will exceed the capacity of the jacks.

These stabilizer jacks are handy for leveling or stabilizing lightweight trailers. Support the front of your cargo trailer so you can load it or unload it without the trailer rocking or tipping. Or level your pop-up for a night at the campground.

I mounted this Stabilizers Jacks to the back of a 4x8 utility trailer. I use the trailer to haul my Honda ATV to MotoAmerica motorcycle races. Once the ATV is removed I lower the jacks and mount my tent inside the trailer. These stabilizers allow me to safely move around in the tent without fear of the trailer tipping.

by:

Jacks worked great. Added them to an aluminum 2 place enclosed snowmobile trailer that did NOT like humans to walk up the rear ramp when unhooked and empty!? ...problem solved.

by:

Etrailer is the only one that had this longer size (22.25”) stab Jack for my travel trailer that sits fairly high of the ground. These are identical to my original stabilizers. They are made of the same thickness steel and were easy to install. They were delivered in just a few days. I have purchased a number of items from Trailer over the years and have always been completely satisfied with the service and product quality.

After over 180 days camping, this stabilizer jack is working as good as new. Of course, where it’s metal to metal the paint has worn off in a few spots and it’s beginning to rust. But I have no fears of it rusting through, during my life time. I have no hesitation at all, recommending this to anyone in need of a good Stabilizer Jack support.

@Michael A little grease on those wear surfaces will help protect from corrosion...

by:

These jacks don’t work well. They worked OK at first, then overtime started slipping and not locking into place. Maybe for a very lightweight utility trailer they could be used for added stability but for my enclosed snowmobile trailer, I have to leave the adjustment rod in the jack to prevent it from slipping out.

Can you please confirm what the weight capacity you are putting on these jacks? These jacks are designed to stabilize a portion of your trailers weight, instead of supporting the full GVWR of the trailer.

by:

I chose these over the shorter drop leg stabilizers and overall functionality is what I was expecting, the quality of the finish is not. The paint on expanding inside leg is scraping right off... clearly the manufacturing cheaped out, looks like a "rattle can special" paint job... I mean c'mon, 5 minutes out of the box and just me testing the product has it looking like it's had years of use. (see pics)

Now I have to figure out if this is something I can live with looking at or if I am sending back. I'm leaning toward returning these because I'm worried they are just going to rust where the scrapes continue to remove paint.

by:

I used these to replace the old screw jack stabilizers on our Hunter Compact II. We needed the extra length. The installation required drilling holes in the front angle iron - a template would have been helpful but I just made mine own so no real problem. We used 1/2 blots with nuts and lock washers. Everything seems okay!

by:

Great product, but they should be welded on the rv frame or bumper. Only one drilled hole in the mounting plate can be accessed with a drill or self drilling/self tapping screws..

by:

I mounted 4 of these telescoping jacks on two folding ramps on my utility trailer. All 4 will not hold their position. I use the supplied silver rods to hold the jacks in the necessary height for the ramps to be level.

These are not to be used to support ramps in a level position. They are intended to stabilize a trailer on level ground.

by:

Great customer service. Product works as advertised.

by:

GREAT PRODUCT

by:

Product came as ordered and ahead of schedule! Using on a camp trailer we put together as leveling feet when I disconnect from the Jeep

by:

I did send in pictures of this set up on my trailer. I really like these for supporting the rear of the trailer when it is not hooked to my truck. If they were a little shorter when retracted they would be better for me. When the trailer is on the hitch, and the front is elevated, the legs won't flip down as they are a bit too long.

by:

Great sturdy product. Excellent replacement for cheap factory screw jacks

by:

The legs are less rigid side-to-side than I expected. It accomplishes the basic purposes of holding the tongue up and preventing the trailer from tipping backward when you lean on it, but it doesn't prevent sway when you lean against the trailer. I probably need some chocks on the wheels. If that doesn't do the trick, I'll probably by a real trailer jack for the front and reposition these jacks to the back corners.

by:

The delivery time was rather long.

by:

Perfect fit for my trailer.

by:

Working on an Off-Road/Expedition Trailer and needed the extra height that these provided. Perfect fit and excellent quality product . Shipping and packaging was right up there with the best I’ve experienced. Thanks!

One year later and still doing great! They’ve taken several lateral stresses and retained good fit on the pivot pin....trailer doesn’t rock around. Still a good solid platform.

by:

Sturdy yet minimal weight. Easy to mount. Can mark where to drill using legs as a template (as opposed to making one yourself). Operates as they should and stay in the stowed position even on rough PA roads! Supports the rear of my two place Legend snowmobile trailer so that I can move the sleds on and off without fear of the trailer tipping, creeping or lifting in the front. I still chock the wheels as that is in my nature to do.

by:

The stabilizing jacks are perfect for our Off Road Square Drop camper. It took us a minute to figure out how we were going to mount them because we didn’t have the ability to weld them to the frame. We drilled into the frame and installed Rivet Nuts. If you choose this route, make sure the Rivet Nuts aren’t too small. It worked out perfect for us. We’ll let you know if there’s a problem using this method once we get back from our cross country trip.

by:

I used these to stabilize the rear of my snowmobile trailer while loading and unloading when not hooked to the truck. They work well but I did have to fabricate mounts to make them work for my particular application. I am satisfied with this purchase and etrailer.com's service.

by:

I bought these for rear supports on my army jeep trailer that I turned into an offroad trailer, easy to install with two bolts each. Made very well, and they fold down / up quickly with quick releases for the drop down leg. They come with gloss enamel paint, I'm going to spray them with bedliner to match the undercarriage of the trailer.

by:

This length of stabilizer is hard to find — a perfect replacement for my 2011 16’ Scamp camper. Delivered lightening fast and just as promised!

by:

Great product. Stabilizes my trailer when loading not attached to the hitch. I went with a weld on install. Only took a couple minutes to do both.

by:

Very nicely manufactured and easy to put together. All the pre-drilled holes were nice and clean and lined up perfectly. The AL construction makes it nice and light.
Also the etrailer website is very easy to use and they supply fast shipping.

  • Bolt Hole Spacing And Diameter For The Stallion Stabilizer Jacks
Hello Stephen. The bolt holes on the Stallion Stabilizer Jack # 288-01892-2 are 3" apart on center and the holes are 7/16" in diameter. Provided the 15-1/4" retracted length and 22-1/4" extended length will work for you, I would stick with those. As far as bolt-on stabilizer jacks go they are solid, and they will do their job well.

  • Recommended Stabilizers For A Toy Hauler Ramp Door Patio
For your toy hauler patio door I recommend using some drop leg stabilizer jacks like the Stallion Stabilizer Jacks # 288-01892-2. These jacks have a retracted height of 15-1/4" and extended height of 22-1/4" and a combined weight capacity of 1,000lbs. The majority of the weight of your door is held up by the trailer so the capacity of these jacks will be more than enough to handle the door as well as the added weight of you and your furniture. I've attached a short video below where Adam...

  • Could Bump In Road Cause Drop Leg to Fall on Stallion Stabilizer Jacks
The drop leg on the Stallion Stabilizer Jacks # 288-01892-2 that you referenced is held securely in place by a spring-loaded lever. The leg cannot physically drop unless the lever is pushed down by hand so you don't have to worry about a big bump in the road knocking something loose that would cause the leg to drop unexpectedly. Also keep in mind that when these jacks aren't in use they can be folded to stow parallel with the trailer frame. When in this position it's locked into place...

  • Availability Of Replacement Parts For The Stallion Stabilizer Jacks # 288-01892-2
Good morning, Rich. I am sorry to say that we do not offer a replacement spring for the Stallion Stabilizer Jacks # 288-01892-2. We actually do not have any replacement parts for these jacks at all. I reached out to the manufacturer, and it seems they do not have replacement parts either. I know this is not what you wanted to hear but if the spring has failed the only way to get a new one would be to get a whole new jack.

  • How Does Stabilizer Jacks # TJ01RT-HD Normally Attach to Trailer
I attached an install video for a similar set of stabilizer jacks to the part # 288-01892-2 for you to check out. The trick is you swing the jack to the side which allows you access for hardware through the bottom of the mounting plate.

  • Installation of Stallion Stabilizer Jacks
Installing the Stallion Stabilizer Jacks, # 288-01892-2, if not welding in place, it is best done with grade 8 bolt and lock nut. Large self tapping screws have been successfully used by many to attach stabilizer jacks as well, but I suggest using bolt and nut for combination of solid attachment without need of welding.

  • Recommended Drop Down Trailer Stabilizer Jacks for An Aluminum Frame Trailer
I do have some great drop down trailer stabilizer jack options but I am not aware of any made from aluminum. Instead, I recommend the Stallion Stabilizer Jacks part # 288-01892-2. They will work just fine being bolted to an aluminum frame, just stick some tape between the two mounting surfaces to prevent galvanic corrosion.

  • How To Install the Stallion Stabilizer Jacks On An Aluminium Frame Trailer
In order to install the Stallion Stabilizer Jacks part # 288-01892-2 on an aluminium frame trailer you will want to use stainless steel fasteners which can be obtained from a local hardware store though they will more less cost effective than standard fasteners but as stated you will need them in order to prevent any galvanic corrosion issues. If you really wanted to ensure there were no corrosion issues, you could also place a thin layer of polypropylene tape between the mounting surfaces.

  • Are There Stabilizer Jacks for an Aluminum Car Trailer
I do have an option for you but we don't really have anything specifically for this purpose and much of determining compatibility will be up to you. That said, I think your best option for stability would something like the Stallion Stabilizer Jacks part # 288-01892-2 which have a bracket height of 15-1/4" - 22-1/4". They also have a 1,000 lb max support capacity. Please note, these stabilizers are made of steel so if you want to attach them to aluminum then you'll need to use a barrier...

  • Jacks For A Coleman Pop-Up Camper
For your Coleman Pop-Up Camper, I recommend the etrailer Scissor Jacks with Handle # TJSCHD-24. The scissor jacks provide more stability than a single leg jack. They come with the handle and are easier to adjust than the single leg jacks. If you prefer the single leg jacks I would go with Stallion Stabilizer Jacks - 7" Drop Leg Travel - 22-1/4" - Qty 2 Item # 288-01892-2 which offer a 1000lb weight capacity so they should be more than capable of handling the weight of the trailer.

  • Trailer Jacks That Can be Welded to Sides of Trailer For Increased Stability
We have close to exactly what you need, although a direct-weld jack such as the Square Direct Weld Jack # TJD-5000 you referenced will not be able to flip up, it will need to remain vertical where it is welded. If you are okay with that then a pair of these jacks will work great for stability so the front of your trailer doesn't pop up and the hitch ball become detached (assuming you do not exceed the 10,000 lb support capacity a pair of these jacks will give you). • Can Stallion Stabilizer Jacks Be Used to Lift Trailer to Change Tire
Mounting four of the Stallion Stabilizer Jacks # 288-01892-2 on each corner of your enclosed trailer will do a great job of stabilizing the unit so it doesn't rock back and forth as you load/unload cargo or climb in and out of it, however these are not designed to actually lift a portion of the trailer. Because of this I cannot recommend using these to raise even a lighter trailer like yours for the purpose of changing a tire. A much better option for this is a simple bottle jack like...

Great question. Without cutting a hole you wouldn't be able to get enough clearance for the jacks to work. I would strongly recommend using them on the outside to prevent clearance issues and probable damage. However, I think you would be better off going with the Stallion Stabilizer Jacks - 7" Drop Leg Travel - 22-1/4" - Qty 2 # 288-01892-2 you can mount them underneath and then they can fold up and out of the way.

  • Stabilizer Jack Recommendation that Provides Height Greater than 25 inches for Trailer
For trailer stabilizer jacks that are taller than 25 inches the best option would be a scissor jack setup like the Ultra Fab Scissor Jacks part # UF48-979031 which can be adjusted up to 30 inches in height. These mount to the corners of the trailer like the drop down jacks but offer a larger height range and in general do a better job stabilizing trailers so this would be your best option. Removing the battery is a great way to get the battery out of a colder climate which can help prevent it from depleting but another option that would allow you to keep the battery in the camper is a solar charger like the Bright Way Solar Charger part # BRW54FR which would give the battery a maintenance charge every day to keep it topped off and ready to use next year. The panel would mount on the exterior of the camper and then with the included wire you'd run it to your battery.
