This winch features solid drum-gear construction, which means that the drum and the gear are 1 single piece. Unlike other winches that have a drum and gear that are riveted together, which leaves space in between, this winch's solid construction ensures there are no spaces that water or debris can get into. Because water can't get in, there is no risk of damaging corrosion between the drum and gear, ensuring years of worry-free operation.

As you may recall in this order, I asked for a left handle and right handle winch, I received 2 right handle winches. I’m not happy, this screws up my plans major time. I need to return the 1800 lb winch and find another LEFT HAND winch, not another RIGHT HAND winch

This isn't my first winch like this and I love the first one as much as I'm sure I will this one. It is so smooth on releasing that I can easily pull out the strap I need and my first one was mounted on a boat trailer. This one was mounted on a 14 foot utility trailer that I use often. I made the mount for a moose hunt and wish I had this winch at the time. However, I have an offset smoker on wheels and haul it with this trailer and I positive this winch is going to be A LOT better than the one I had. The boat trailer sure is!!

George, shopping on Etrailer’s site is so easy. I had checked at a couple of stores here in Corpus Christi and could never find the winch with the right capacity. They were alway either to small or to big...this one was exactly what I needed. The mounting bolt pattern was the same...just unbolt the old and bolt on the new. Installed the same day. Thanks. top shelf heavy duty construction. really comfortable handle. easy to replace & went with nylon strap this time instead of rope. so far so good. really happy with the manufacturer guarantee. pulls my 14 ft. row boat with 15 HP yamaha outboard onto the trailer with ease. etrailer is the way to go.

Item arrived 2 days after order was placed. It fit my needs to replace a broken trailer winch. They only suggestion I would make is to be prepared to find some hardware to mount this to the trailer if your existing hardware won't do (My hardware was rusty, so I went to the hardware store to find replacements)

Now here is a winch that is made to last for a long time. It's made very well and looks great. I like how the forward and reverse works on this winch and that you can use wire cable if you want. Just what I wanted.
