Hi, there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Fulton XLT single speed winch. This single speed winch is designed to be used with a strap and they do include a two inch wide by 20 inch long strap for your use. It does have the convenient two-way ratcheting system so that you can let your strap out, flip that switch there and that will allow you to retract it back in. It's a very simple operation to let it out and bring it in.
It does have an efficient 4.1:1 gear ratio and you can see it does have this eight inch long handle with the comfort grip on it that's gonna make cranking much easier for you. The carbon steel construction is going to provide a 1,500 pound weight capacity. The high carbon steel gears are very strong and long lasting. The stamped carbon steel frame ensures rigidity for your gear alignment and a long cycle life. So combined, it's gonna provide superior strength and durability for better functioning and increased lifespan.
We do have an oil impregnated shaft bushing set and a full length drum bearing kit that's going to make for a nice, smooth, and efficient operation. The Z-Max 600 finish provides increased corrosion resistance and the polypropylene shell adds extra protection as well as a cleaner look. If we look at our dimensions, our length here without the handle, we're gonna be sitting at approximately 10 inches in length. With our handle, it's going to be about 12-1/4 of an inch. Our width, again without the handle, we're sitting right about five inches.
If we include the handle, that's gonna be about 11 inches. Our height, right at 6-1/2 inches tall. Now to get this mounted in place, you do have the mounting plate here on the bottom. Give you a few measurements here to make sure that this is gonna fit your application. So you can see all of these holes here are going to have a 3/8 inch diameter.
These two are going to be round holes, and then these two on the top here, those are gonna be about 5/8 of an inch wide. This one here on the bottom is approximately 1-1/2 inches long. The space between them, if you go center to center, you can see it's about one inch separating those top holes there. And then if we measure from the center, that long hole, we've got about one, call it 2-1/2 inches to this hole from the center and then from that one, it's about 1-1/4 of an inch vertically. So overall, a great option here. If you're needing a single speed winch, this is gonna do a great job for you. I think you'll be very happy with it. That completes our look for today. Was here in just 2 days. That was a bonus. The winch was exactly like the one I was replacing. I could have made installation much easier and quicker if I would not have removed the rear cross bar. I removed it to get at the 2 rear mounting bolts easier.Should not have done that. When I removed the cross bar that little spring fell off. Took over an hour to get the spring mounted correctly. Big mistake on my part. If you order this winch just mount it and put on the strap. Save yourself the trouble I caused. The winch I replaced lasted 12 years in excellent condition. Same winch. Had to replace because I overloaded the winch at the ramp. This is an excellent winch at a very good price.

Good quality product. Terrible installation instructions. Took covers off to install strap, (which you don't have to do), & could not get it all back together. Had to call MFG. for help. Now I have a winch without the covers because you can't assemble the ratchet pawl with the covers on.

etrailer.com is a great resource, me from driving around to find the right products. The pictures and the online video review of the product provides great detail on what you are getting. Sometimes ordering on line, expectations are missed. This did not happen here. The winch was as reviewed in the video and installed in minutes. I already knew the installation would be easy as they showed the measurements on the bracket. Ordered is and received is 4 days later in Oregon and shipping was free.
