Dog does not stay engaged and bent the first time it was used to pull the boat out of the water.
I bought this in spring and noticed the dog did not stay engaged, but then it started to engage so I didn’t think about it until I went to pull the boat out in the fall. The dog had engagement issues again. The mounting plate and the bolt the strap is attached to bent. It is rated for 450 lbs full drum capacity and I was winching a 14’ aluminum boat with a 15 hp motor ~350 lbs.
etrailer would not accept a return since it was outside the 30 day return policy, and offered to start a warranty replacement. However, I wouldn’t trust this winch ever again. Buyer beware.
I needed parts for my 1962 Balko tilt small boat trailer. I call after making a list of parts I wanted and talk with customer service rep Sandy J. Awesome she checked all items for being in stock so I could get my order on Friday. That way I could start on it Friday night and have Sat and Sun to finish it up. As you see in the picture as of Sat night 8:30 CST almost done. I will finish up tomorrow and a big thanks to Sandy J. The team at eTrailer who got my order packed and shipped out on time. Parts are good quality for dollars spent. I highly recommend eTrailer for parts but so nice to find someone who cares about what they do everyday. One tip is to bore the hole into the bunker and installl a piece of PCV pipe for the 1/2 bolt to ride on instead of just the wood. I also mixed up some West Systems Epoxy and coated the hole in the bunker, PCV pipe and slide them into place. Added a Stainless Steel washer to each side done deal.
I'll be back If I ever needed anything again.

Initial order came fast! Had to check on another part, so I talked to Theresa at customer service and she got me the part I needed. Super fast, super friendly. It was a pleasure doing business.
Works great for my use. Raises my squirrel feeder up and down - to keep it away from the raccoons and possoms at night.
Bought this after searchign for over a hour on the site for a shorter handle then all of the 8" ones. I needed a shorter one for bow clearance on my boat - this one works great. pulls a fully loaded lowe 1648 with a heavy merc. 25 electric start motor and a full gas tank/cooler/people right up onto the trailer.
excellent, purchased with the "repair kit" so ci could reverse the handle. Directions were pretty weak but simple enough. provides ratcheting protection in either direction while raising or lowering my mast...
My project is a chandelier hoist for cleaning and bulb replacement. The contractor wanted $3750 but I should get it done for less than $200.
This winch will work well. It is a well made strong product.
This is a repeat order for the FT600 manual trailer winch, for winching a horse drawn carriage onto a special trailer. My previous T600 winch was on a boat trailer and functioned flawlessly.
installed the trailer winch today on my boat trailer. installation was easy and the winch performed as expected.
Excellent little winch. I have a Hobie Pro Angler Tandem Kayak that ways about 350 fully rigged up for fishing. This certainly made loading that easier after 8 hours on the water. Works great. Good price. Works the way it should.

Love the bi-directional locking mechanism. Will be using this in combination with a double block and tackle to raise the mast on my sailboat.

Boat not in water yet do to health issues but maybe next month. Still people are so impressed with the 1961 trailer they are shocked when I tell them the year of it. Also they ask where I buy all my parts only one place etrailer The winch works great smooth and quick I have had the boat on and off the trailer ten times a least. I recommend that everyone who installs rollers and or bunkers, take their time. Sure you can install them quickly but then crawl under the trailer and really check how much each one is loaded or unloaded. Try rocking the boat side to side it helps if you have someone helping you at this point while you are under the trailer. It took me about 3 hours enjoying myself taking all the time I needed. Pays off so much a 10 year old could winch the boat right up the first time and then strap it down and ready to go anywhere. Very high quality parts. Since I worked for FEL-PRO gasket company for ten years I know quality. Would like to add a picture of the trailer completely finished.
