Can Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch DL14527 Be Freewheeled Or Used In Reverse?
Question:
Hello, will does this have a neutral / reverse? I back my boat in with the winch still hooked up, and want it to free spool, but stay strapped.

The Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch # DL14527 you were looking at can be freewheeled to allow you to quickly take out line, or the better option for backing down your boat is reversing the ratchet so that you can let the boat go back in a slow, controlled manner.
For marine applications like yours I recommend using a strap such as the # DL24249 as it will not scratch up your boat should it rub against it, and will also not rust like a steel cable.
