2 Inch Wide Winch Strap Option For Shelby 1,400 lb Winch

Question:

I have a Shelby model 5405 Winch. It has a 16 foot strap now with snap hook a little less than 1” inside hook. I need to replace it I would like to know what strap you recommend. Spool is 5–1/2 inch diameter, 2” wide Existing strap with loop is threaded through two of the four larger holes only on on side of the spool, not on bolt. I see that the spool has a single hole both sides about quarter inch closer to the axle. Seems like I should just use a loop and strap with a bolt to attach it.

We may have an option that works as a replacement strap, though since Shelby is out of business we can't verify a fit. But we do have a 2 inch wide strap with a bolt that has the capacity you need for your 1,400 lb capacity Shelby 5405:

- Winch Strap with Hook - 2" x 15' - 2,600 lbs # DL6148

This is a 15 foot strap and uses a winch bolt that measures 3" long and 3/8" in diameter; hopefully you can use that and compare it to your strap to see if it will work.

You can also replace your winch, using the # DL6148 strap with the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch # DL14527.
