Replacement Leaf Springs for Wesco Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a Wesco trailer I bought used and it carries my 1997 Scout 172 sportfisher. Full weight approx 1400 lbs. I am not sure the axle weight but I do need to replace the leaf springs immediately. Also need the accompanying bolt kit. What weight capacity springs do I need? Im am thinking 3500 lbs is sufficient . Size 4 leaf and eye to eye is 26 inches. I will need to replace the axle at one point its 2x2. If you do not mind could you provide the product numbers for the leaf springs and the axle that you recommend.

For a 3,500 lb trailer axle leaf spring I would recommend the galvanized part # e68SR which is 25-1/8 inches long. Galvanized steel holds up a lot better to rust than standard steel and while this is a little shorter than what you have now worn out springs tend to flatten out and get longer over time. For a 2 inch square u-bolt kit then you'd want the part # CE23103 and you'd be set.

To pick out an axle you would need to know the hub face to hub face dimension as well as the spring seat to spring seat center dimension.
