Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Good price and fast shipping as always, this is the 3rd trailer hitch I have bought from here. The only thing I would like people to know is that on a stock 86 you will have to cut a slot in the bumper a little or just fold it over the hitch receiver. Since I have a TRD I will have to notch out the additional add on piece on the bumper as well. Not a big deal at all since I was worried about the ground clearance on this relatively lower car but after driving it around with the bike stand I am happy to report that I can clear all the bumps, and speed breaker and driveways I usually drive on without driving at an angle. Really like that the hitch is high enough off the ground. I am more of a practical guy over aesthetics hate cars that have ground clearance issues or wheel rub just to look cool lol. The install part is easy as it gets once you have the bumper off. Would highly recommend to anyone!

by:

The item arrived fairly quickly and packaged well enough. The instructions for removing the rear bumper cover were adequate but could be improved. Better photos locating the retaining tabs would have been helpful. The hitch itself mounted easily. There is a slight fit up issue when putting the bumper cover back in place. There is a minor interference issue. Over all, I am very satisfied with the hitch and its use in holding a bicycle carrier .

Working Great

by:

Great product. Hidden enough that you barely notice it if you put a cover on the receiver. Have been using it on my FRS for bicycle racks and pulling a small trailer to tow my motorcycles. Used to own a small truck and now own this small car so this has been a good alternative for towing small stuff.

Shipment was well packaged and secure.Install went on without a problem. Easy bolt on installation on 2015 Subaru BRZ. Highly recommended.

Still Great After A Year. Ive seen plenty of inelegant solutions for attaching a bike rack or hitch receiver to the BRZ but this is far the best Ive found and at a really great price. It helps transport mountain bikes in my BRZ with a hitch bike rack. Because of the design I dont think I can add an aftermarket rear diffuser without modifications to the diffuser but otherwise I see to issues. Aftermarket Catback exhausts should not be an issue at all either.

by:
2017 Subaru BRZ

Fits perfectly and works incredibly well for bike rack use, which is what I use it for mostly. Installation was a breeze. Trailering is no problem either, just don’t overload!

Scion FR-S

Perfectly

2016 Subaru BRZ

This has been a great product after a year of use. I use it 2-3 times a week in the summer and it does exactly what I need it to do. I get some looks driving down the street with a trailer hitch and bike rack on my Subaru BRZ, but it's awesome.

Toyota

Excellent trailer hitch with easy installation. I had to make a small cut in the bottom of the bumper to get it to fit on my 2017 toyota 86 but it still looks great.
I have used my bike rack on the hitch many times and have had no issues.

by:
2019 Toyota 86

Great fit for the 2019 Toyota 86. A bit of a pain in the butt to install. Definitely recommend cutting a bit of a slot in the plastic bumper where the hitch sticks out. I didn't and it folds up a bit. To get the bumper off, the 2 plastic rivets in the wheel wells, use a small screwdriver or something like a coat hander and push the middle of the rivet in then pull the whole thing out. The rest of the rivets are easy to remove using a flathead. I had to pull on the bumper a bit harder than I really wanted for it to come off. Putting it back on wasn't too bad. The product itself is solid, no complaints.

by:

Awsome trailer hitch used it for my bike rack for a good year gave me zero issues super easy to install, installed it in my drive way with a few hand tools.

by:

You need a deep socket wrench for whatever size is on the car. Sorry it's been over a year. You really do need that deep socket in order to torque the bumper bolts down enough. The hitch is high enough I don't worry about scraping it on valleys in the road.

by:
2015 Scion FR-S

It does very well it pulls my 5 x 8 heavy duty 600LB utility trailer with no problem. I will say the rattle sounds are pretty loud but that’s mainly because of how the car is built and it’s a old trailer but it really dont bother me either way. it was easy to install, no hassle except for those “pesky plastic push pins” that are in the bottom of the bumper. took me about an hour to install.

by:
2018 Subaru BRZ

This is a great trailer hitch, it's stealthy and easy to install. It seems very stable, with a Kuat rack (pretty heavy) and two bikes. Also, it fit perfectly on my brand new 2018 BRZ.

by:

I choose this hitch as it's the not very visible and doesn't require any drilling or filing of the car.

So long as you have some wrenching experience this is a relatively pain free install. If you have the dealer installed splash guards you may need to remove the rear wheels to get access to the screws to remove them.

Installation took approximately an hour and the instructions are very well written.

by:

'17 brz. fits perfectly, super low profile, barely noticeable.

Remember to pull any diffusers off the bumper before trying to reattach it!

by:

Fairly easy to install and has enabled me to bring my bike on amazing rides.

by:

Quick and Easy install and perfect fit with the OEM Bumper. Most I've pulled is 800 LBS but not a single issue. Extremely confident in this product. Would buy again.

The part immediately went back order and took over a month to come in. Your company stayed in contact. I appreciate that.

by:

It fit my 17' BRZ with no alterations, works as intended.

  • Does Rear Panel Need To Be Removed To Install Draw-Tite Hitch 24935 On 2019 Subaru BRZ
The Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24935 does install between the the bumper cover and the bumper so the rear fascia does not need to be removed because it is a concealed cross tube hitch. The only part of the hitch that is visible once installed is the receiver. The bumper cover will be replaced after the hitch is installed. I have attached a snip from the installation instructions that explains this step.

  • Does Installation of Trailer Hitch on 2017 Toyota 86 Require Removing Bumper and Exhaust
The installation of the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24935 does require you to remove the bumper cover but it does not require you to remove or have any type of contact with the exhaust. • Is Draw Tite Hitch for 2013 Scion FR-S All thats Needed to Install Bike Rack
The Draw Tite hitch part # 24935 is a confirmed fit for your 2013 Scion FR-S and would be all you'd need to install a hitch mounted bike rack like the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider # HR200Z. This would cost you about 1 shop hour if you took it to a shop so you'd just have to inquire around at shop hour rates to get idea what install would cost.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For Carrying a Bike Rack With a 2013 Subaru BRZ
Since the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11379 does require Stabilizing Straps # 18050 you will want to use the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24935. This is a class I receiver that will give you a 1-1/4 in receiver on your 2013 Subaru BRZ. The Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack # SH12B is one of our easiest bike racks to use. • Curt or Draw Tite Trailer Hitch for 2013 Scion FR-S
For your 2013 Scion FR-S I would recommend the Draw Tite part # 24935 over the Curt hitch # C11379 as only the hitch opening hangs below the rear bumper which gives you a more hidden look while also helping with ground clearance.

  • Will the Draw-Tite # 24935 be Good for Towing a Small Trailer with a 2015 Scion FR-S
The Draw-Tite # 24935 is a confirmed fit for your 2015 Scion FR-S and has a tongue weight rating of 200 lbs and a gross towing weight of 2,000 lbs so the hitch itself would be able to handle a small trailer like the Malone MicroSport # MPG461G2. To complete a towing setup for your Scion FR-S you would need wiring like the Tekonsha T-One # 118629, a ball mount like the Draw-Tite # 3593, and a hitch ball like the 1-7/8" # 19256 or 2" # 19258. • Hitch, Ball Mount and Wiring for 2017 Toyota 86 for Towing and Cargo Carrier
Draw-Tite Class I hitch # 24935 is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Toyota 86 and with it you can use ball mount # 3593. Add either 1-7/8-inch hitch ball # 19256 or 2-inch ball # 19258 depending on the coupler size on the trailer. Curt wiring kit # C56212 is a fit but instead I recommend the Tekonsha harness # 118629 because we have found their wiring products to be more reliable.
