Will install unless otherwise directed Draw-Tite 24935 Class I Curt C56212 Harness Draw-Tite Drawbar 3594 for towing small trailer. Also want to have option of using carrier such as Curt C18145. 2 concerns 1 will carrier fit without hitting bumper? Extension needed? 2 will the carrier will be too low and hit the ground when loaded, requiring a lift extension?

Draw-Tite Class I hitch # 24935 is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Toyota 86 and with it you can use ball mount # 3593. Add either 1-7/8-inch hitch ball # 19256 or 2-inch ball # 19258 depending on the coupler size on the trailer.

Curt wiring kit # C56212 is a fit but instead I recommend the Tekonsha harness # 118629 because we have found their wiring products to be more reliable. An article to help you with the install is linked.

For a cargo carrier I recommend the Curt # C18110 instead of carrier # C18145 because it has 3-3/4-inches of rise in the shank for better ground clearance and also more distance between the hitch pin hole and the carrier's rails for a better fit at the bumper. These features make it a better option for a low-sitting vehicle like the 86. If you need a cargo net you can use # C18200. You are better off avoiding use of a hitch adapter since they all reduce your hitch's rated capacity by 50-percent.
