Will the Draw-Tite # 24935 be Good for Towing a Small Trailer with a 2015 Scion FR-S
Question:
Would this be a good hitch for a small trailer pulling a couple 15 pound kayaks. The car is a 2015 Scion FRS

Expert Reply:
The Draw-Tite # 24935 is a confirmed fit for your 2015 Scion FR-S and has a tongue weight rating of 200 lbs and a gross towing weight of 2,000 lbs so the hitch itself would be able to handle a small trailer like the Malone MicroSport # MPG461G2.
To complete a towing setup for your Scion FR-S you would need wiring like the Tekonsha T-One # 118629, a ball mount like the Draw-Tite # 3593, and a hitch ball like the 1-7/8" # 19256 or 2" # 19258. You will want to reference the linked ball mount article to ensure that the 2-1/8" Rise/2-3/4" Drop of the ball mount is correct for your towing application.
I did take a look at the online version of your owner's manual and it stated that Toyota does not recommend towing with your FR-S or even installing a trailer hitch. You will want to check your copy of the owner's manual to verify and then the decision will be up to you as to what you would like to do. We do have some roof rack options you can utilize for your light trailers if need be. Just let me know and I can make those recommendations.
