Now, this hitch ball will work with the Curt pin-to-hook combos to supply a 1 7/8 inch sized diameter ball. It is a drop forged steel construction, has a nice rust-resistant chrome plated finish on it, and it does include the nylon inserted lock nut for installation. A few specs on this; the weight capacity, which is also stamped on the top of the ball, is 6000 lbs, the ball diameter itself is 1 7/8 inch, and the shank diameter ...

we'll put a ruler on that . is going to be right at 1 1/4 inches for the shank diameter. That should do it for the review Curt 1 7/8 inch hitch ball for the Curt pin-to-hook combo with the 6000 lb weight capacity.

Just what I was looking for, and not always easy to find.

by:

I was very happy with my purchase. I was afraid I wouldn't find the right hitch for my gator since all my others were Reese hitches. I found the right one at a good price and I'm happy

Needed a hitch ball for my new John Deere 3025E. Needed to tow a 2k GVWR utility trailer for hauling wood etc., with a 1-7/8" coupler. The drawbar is 1-1/4" thick with a 1-1/4" hole for hauling wagons and trailers. I knew finding a 1-7/8" hitch ball with a 1-1/4" shank would be a challenge, but etrailer had in stock. The 2-3/8" shank length worked perfectly, only 3/8" exposed thread below the lock nut which still allows for plenty of ground clearance, necessary for me hauling a trailer on woods trails. Appears to be of high quality, easy install. Very pleased!

No complaints, has worked to perfection.

product is stamped 6000 lb on top. Do not exceed this limit GVWR. This was the only 1-1/4th inch stem with a 1-7/8th inch ball. Had to get things from diff. sources to get what i needed. I got a class 4 hitch from one place and 17000 lb 2" receiver bar (class 5) from another place. 50dollars now at The Hitch Man to torque 8 hitch bolts and this ball (450 ft-lbs). Shpg these heavy things costs a bit, so about $280 plus 50doll for 7-slot trailer wiring oval plug insert for Chev truck, so $330 total. going to re-do old trailer wiring - need emer. brake sys. 62doll, replace 7-slot trlr side 31doll, 12doll jn box. So this part was a good product in all of above.

Thank you for sending us in the right direction. The shipping was quick. Great experience.

by:

Fits in the pintle perfectly

by:

Replaced a pintle hitch ball perfectly, though the flats were a smaller size than the original. Threads, nylock nut and chrome finish was excellent. Shipping and communication was excellent and on time as usual.

by:

It will be until school ends before I get a chance to use this but looks to be well built. I like the options and versatility of the pintle combo.

  • Complete Towing Setup For 2010 Ford Edge
Dry weight is the weight of your vehicle when completely empty with no passengers or cargo loaded. The gross trailer weight is total weight of the trailer plus the cargo loaded on it. The main two things you need to look at are your vehicle's max towing capacity and the trailer's gross weight. My research tells me that your 2010 Ford Edge has a max towing capacity of 2,000lbs, but you can verify in your owner's manual. This means you should not pull a trailer that exceeds 2,000lbs. If...

  • Availability of Bolt On Pintle Hook Combo with 1-7/8 Ball
It sounds like you are looking for something like our Curt Pintle Hook with 1-7/8" Hitch Ball # C48810. As you can see in the attached photo, it comes with a 1-7/8 ball and it allows you to bolt it onto a pintle mount or drawbar, like # C48343, similar to the one you mentioned having. I have also attached a review video for this at the bottom of the page. All of our pintle hook combos come with a pre-torqued ball so you can just keep your other one as a spare. • Best Trailer Hitch for Towing a Trailer with a 2018 Subaru Forester
According to my research, the towing capacity of your 2018 Subaru Forester is 1,000 lbs for unbraked trailers and 1,500 lbs for braked trailers. I cannot recommend you exceed these figures but the best trailer hitch for your 2018 Subaru Forester with towing in mind is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75876. • Recommended Ball Mount with 6 Inch Drop That Won't Stick Out Further Than 10 Inches From Receiver
I can understand the concern with using a ball mount with a drop and a longer shank possibly creating a situation where it's more likely to contact the ground. I'll start by saying that the Curt Multi-Ball # D900 is a fairly standard length when it comes to an adjustable ball mount; there are some that come with a longer shank but the roughly 15" total distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball is fairly standard. The reason for this is that we do not offer a 1-7/8" pintle ball with the exact dimensions that you need nor do I think you will be able to find one as 1-7/8" is a very odd size for a pintle ball.
