I've not towed with it yet, but it's very high quality and seems way overbuilt. I like the hammered finish and the components are very nice. Once I figured out how they work, Gen-Y's 'twisting lock pin' is easier to use than a standard cotter pin and adds some piece of mind that it's not going anywhere. Love that you can store the ball mount in front of the hitch when not using it - including sideways so that it doesn't reduce ground clearance, even when in the lowest receiver. The only thing I don't like about it - which etrailer comments on in the online item description - is that it doesn't fit very snug. Combined with the 2-1/2 to 2" reducer sleeve, there's a fair amount of play. Not sure yet if this is going to create rattling when towing (that would reduce my stars). One note: based on the Gen-Y website's method for determining the appropropriate drop for my vehicle, I should have ordered the 10" drop. I did my own measuring and ordered the 7-1/2" drop instead, which works perfectly for my 2021 RAM 3500 SRW 4x4.

by:

After using it, but they standard trailer the ball hitch cracked did not know who to reach out to called you guys multiple times and no response

by:

I have a three-inch lift kit on my truck, and it dropped it down to the perfect level I need to tow my car hauler trailer.

by:

Haven't used the product but I have no doubt it will do the trick. I'm a over thinking, over prep kinda guy so...if I had any doubts this was the best option, I wouldn't have purchased it. etrailer...so...I'm pretty impressed with your sales/customer support. I received very quick responses to specific "will this work with this thing?" questions....and the answers were on target AND specific. No generalities, no sales pitch BS. If my idea wasn't the best...I got an alternative, along with part numbers, pictures etc. AND...I ordered this on a Thursday afternoon, and got the part delivered the next day. FREE Wasn't next day service...just happened that way. Pretty freakin nice.

Well, Im sure the product is ok but it becamse immediately apparent it would not work for my configuration. Pretty much a waste of $300 but that was a risk I took.

Works great for towing trailers with different heights of sway bar hitches. The ability to put whatever kind of hitch you want at any height is invaluable, I will probably never have to buy a drop hitch ever again in my life, the construction on this is very stout.

by:

The hitch was perfect for the job that I was working on.95 bronco, which I mounted it at the front of vehicle so that the customer can move boats around while looking at the front windsheild. Also was able to use it at the rear of vehicle also.Perfect choice.

by:

This hitch is solid! We used it to flat-tow a Jeep behind our motorhome and use the top slot for the bike rack. It was super solid and performed perfectly during this 4500+ mile trip.

by:

Very heavy duty stacked receiver and dual ball. Combined with the stabilizer bars i feel safe hauling my trailers. Still able to use my other hitches with this receiver too.

by:

All in all a good set up. A lot more play in the receiver than I expected. Fair amount of rattling around without a trailer attached. In all fairness I do live in a state with poor roads.

by:

Has done what it is supposed to do. I have used the hitch to tow two boats over the last two years using both ball sizes. The only issue is the appearance. Saltwater creates rust and break down of the coating on the hitch. Was never dunked in salt has been effected being near saltwater. Hitch was washed with freshwater after each use in salt.

I probably wouldn’t buy again. I have seen some other hitches that can do similar adjustments that do better near saltwater environments.

by:

Holy crap, thing is built like a tank. Needed it to lower my front mount to accommodate a ebike rack. Worked great!

Oh my sweet adjustable hitch from the future, where have you been all my lifted truck life?! ?? Let me tell you, this GenY adjustable hitch is like the superhero sidekick my overgrown, behemoth of a Dodge 1 ton needed to conquer the highways and byways with style, swagger, and an adjustable drop that's got me feeling like a towing wizard!

Picture this: my truck, the size of a small building, with tires that could probably qualify as a down payment for a small country. And then there's the trailer – it's like a mobile home with an identity crisis. Traditional hitches quiver in fear when they see my rig coming, but not the GenY. Nope, this hitch faces my truck's titanic drop with a grin and says, "Bring it on, buddy!"

So, what's the deal with this hitch, you ask? Well, let me break it down for you while keeping my excitement level in check (which is near impossible):

Adjustable Awesomeness: The GenY hitch doesn't just drop – it swoops, it dips, it twirls. Okay, maybe not twirls, but you get the idea. You want to tow your luxury yacht or your miniature house? Boom, this hitch adjusts to whatever mind-boggling height difference you can throw at it.

Zero Drama, All Towing Nirvana: Remember the time when towing made your truck feel like it was dragging a herd of elephants through a mud pit? Yeah, those days are over. With the GenY hitch, my Dodge struts its stuff like a runway model with a trailer in tow. Smooth as butter, I tell you. Smooth as butter!

Weightlifting Champion: I swear, I've pulled everything short of a small planet with this hitch. The GenY hitch handles weight like a pro wrestler handles dumbbells – effortlessly! No creaks, no groans, just a confident "I got this" vibe that makes me want to challenge it to a bench press competition. (Spoiler: I'd lose.)

Confidence Booster: Have you ever seen a truck hitch that oozes confidence? Well, you're about to! Every time I back up to my trailer, I can practically hear my hitch saying, "Don't worry, buddy, I've got your back!" And it does, every single time.

Conversation Starter: I can't tell you how many times people have walked by my truck and trailer combo, only to do a double-take at the hitch. It's like having a celebrity accessory for my truck. Sometimes, I feel like rolling down my window and saying, "Oh, this? It's just my GenY – no big deal!"

In conclusion, my GenY adjustable hitch is not just a hitch – it's a legendary partner in crime for my lifted Dodge adventure-mobile. If my truck could write reviews, it would probably leave an even longer, more passionate review than this. But for now, take my word for it – if you're towing with a truck that's on the verge of having its own postcode, get yourself a GenY hitch and let the good times (and the trailers) roll!

This thing is a monster, going to be perfect for what I got it for, had to have a 12 inch rise for flat towing our 2021 raised Jeep wrangler. looked all over for something strong enough for the job, and this beast is perfect.

by:

Amazing thing is a beast best hitch I’ve ever owned I’ll probably never buy another one

by:

Quality product and you can tell by the weight. I believe this will give me many years of service! Going to make sure I get it locked on.

  • What Dual Hitch Receiver and Ball Mount to Tow a Sea-Doo Trailer and Motorcycle Carrier
An option that provides the capacity you need with most of the drop is an adjustable dual hitch adapter like the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2" Hitch # 325-GH-314. This hitch provides - 7-1/2" of drop and also comes with 2" and 2-5/16" interchangeable tow balls. This provides a wide variety of potential uses with one hitch so it could pay for itself many times over a lifetime of use. In addition, while most hitch adapters lose tongue weight capacity when used,...

Anytime a hitch extender like the MaxxTow Dual Hitch Extender is used it reduces the weight capacity of the trailer hitch it's installed into by 50%. Since the hitch on your motorhome is rated at 5K that means when using this extender that is reduced to 2,500 lbs towing/250 lbs tongue. • Which Locking Pin Would Work With The Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-314?
If you have the Gen-Y Adjustable 2 Ball Mount # 325-GH-314 then you'll need these locks # 34061572-D. These will lock your balls to the mount and the mount to the hitch. Yes, it's not the cheapest lock but this isn't the cheapest ball mount. Someone could easily come and grab just the ball out of the mount and use it on their car and it would be just as easy, just a little bit heavier to take the whole ball mount with them.
