Recommended Drop Hitch For My 2021 Thor Windsport Motorhome With 2" Trailer Hitch
Question:
2021 Thor Motorhome. Top of receiver is 22inch and the recommended height of the coupler is 14-16. I bought a Curt #54902, which is a 6inch and the angle of the trailer is steep for me. I want the trailer more level, I like the adjustable channel mount, but will I have the ground clearance for a larger . Also, I would want a ball capacity greater thank 5,000 lbs. the receiver is a 2. Thanks,

When you are towing you want the trailer to be as close to level as possible. If the top of your trailer hitch is 22" and the height of your coupler is between 14" and 16", you will need a drop between 6" to 8" for your ball mount. I would go with something closer to 8" since you still have a slight rise in your coupler with the 6" drop of your Curt ball mount, part # C45338. I recommend going with an adjustable ball mount rated for the 5,000 lbs you are requesting.
I recommend the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2" Hitch - 7-1/2" Drop/Rise - 10K, part # 325-GH-314. It is rated 10K, it has 7-1/2" drop, and it comes with a 2" and 2-1/2" hitch ball. In addition, ground clearance will not be an issue with this ball mount.
